Heath Outdoor Products AH-12D 12 Room Aluminum Purple Martin House with (2) Decoys for attracting Purple Martins

I've had this Martn house years back, although it's a pain to assemble, tiny nuts/bolts, it held up well. This came with 2 decoys, and I was hoping to give 1 to each of my Grandchildren, 3 and 8, and teach about the importance of Martin's. For some reason, I grabbed the packaging out of the trash, and there's a CANCER threat. I'm infuriated.

Flathead screw that locks/secures plastic collar/base of bottom house on pole stripped!!! Had to drill a hole to secure it. Was missing one porch guard/rail. Instructions were misleading. Had to YouTube it!

Instructions skip a lot of steps and the hole design isn’t very good at all you can’t get all the bolts tight and some you can’t even get pliers on, and then once you get it all together after many breaks of frustration and at least a couple hours, the way they designed it you can’t tighten the bolt that tightens the house to the pole, you gotta use pliers very poor designed and cheap

Way too much assembly required. Worked on it for hours 2 different times.

Many parts but worth it hopefully will last

I don’t recall it stated it needed assembled...I gave it away!

This is a well engineered product and will provide years of service. The biggest issue with it, is the difficulty in assembling it. Though I am a mechanical engineer, it took me about three hours to assemble it. Because of this, I would definitely not recommend it as a gift.
