propane tank lock

I needed something that could lock my 20-lb. propane so the homeless couldn’t steal my tank again. This is a great concept and the best option I could find online, plus it also prevents someone from undoing the regulator hose. The only challenge is propane tank valves are screwed in at different heights for each tank. I had to custom drill my cover to fit my (owned) tank specifically. It fits perfectly now. Propane tank lock: offers some utility as a locking device, but it does not fully prevent a tank from releasing Propane when engaged (with a lock).

An ill fitting cheap piece of PVC tubing smothered in still-tacky pray paint. Needs to be about 25% larger in scale to encompass the main fitting, valve and hose attachment to compare to the listing photo. Says “patent pending”, but is clear hand-made with rough edges- clearly made to order from memory as opposed to a fixed/measured design. Save your money and make your own. Would be a significantly better review if it included a pad lock or something. The tiny nature of the slide locking bar only allows a tiny pad lock which generally would not be enough of a deterrent and could very well slip through the bottle handle.

This is just a PVC cap with a short piece of pipe painted red and a metal bar with one bend and a hole drilled in it. All of the five star reviews are within 5 days of each other almost a year ago. These might keep young kids from turning off your gas, but they wouldn't slow down a 12 year old with one arm and a baseball sized rock.

I would have like the bar to be wider and a larger hole drilled for a lock

Product just arrived. Haven’t used yet , but looks like it was paper wrapped without being the paint completly dry. Looks very bad.
