No. The waistband is made out of the same material as the leggings, just double thickness, with a really useful little pocket for your locker key. They fit really well :)

Q: I want to get these for my 13 yr old niece. Shes a size 8. Will rhe fabric protect her modesty and will a sml fit?

I'm a 10/12 & bought a medium, when I buy again I may go for a small because I like my wobbly bits restricted as much as poss. Great fit & cover where needs to. A small is fine for a size 8.

I'm a 12/14 and bought a L but could probably have got away with a M. There is quite a bit of stretch. They are better too tight than too loose.

Q: What is the inside leg length of the long ones?

Mine are not branded as long/short but are 20 inches. I've had them for a few months now and can recommend them- they wash well, are comfortable and look good on. I'm glad I bought them
