Verezano PDVD-12309C Swivel Screen 9-Inch Portable DVD Player (Old Model)

I bought this for my husband for Christmas as a gift as the old one finally died.He has thoroughly enjoyed it and the screen is a very nice size. The battery life is about an hour and half on the road.He likes it for its compact size and the swivel screen was a bonus. The speakers put out a fair amount of sound but if background noise is an issue you may need a headset or boosters. It has been very reliable and is used on a daily basis. It is not handled by kids so please take that into account on durability. The kids watch traveling but adults only handle it. It really appears to be solidly built but in our household has not been kid tested.Value for the price was great and we are very pleased with its performance.

I purchased this as a gift, but since the person to whom I was going to give it turned out not to need it, I retained it for my own use. I have only used it when it was plugged in, so the battery life is not an issue. It is simple to use, and has good screen and sound quality.

I wanted a small DVD player/viewer for my bed side. I needed to be able to use headphones at night. I only have a couple of complaints. First, the screen only rotates in one direction (and for me, it's the wrong direction). Second, the 4:3 aspect ratio doesn't work. When watching DVDs that are from old TV shows and movies, the picture gets stretched a bit. Why bother to have this option in the settings if it isn't going to work? I should probably return it, but I'm getting used to it after a week and I'm too busy to bother with it. I cannot comment on battery life because I never unplug it. Oh, one other thing. The little remote control works fine (if you are not too far away) but it doesn't have an "on-off" function. This must be done each time at the unit; which leads me to ask, "What's the point of even having a remote?"

I like the picture quality and a remote control. Very quick power on. Nice size screen.Only negative thing is that it is thick; neither flat nor compact. Charging usually takes overnight to be fully charged; but only last a couple of hours so not quite ideal for airplane flight that is more than 2 hours long. But all the rest of places where it can be plugged in for charging, this item is near perfect.Do not over-swivel the screen because it can be very fragile if not handled carefully.

Great price, works better than the old one it's replacing, pretty lightweight. Happy with this purchase. It comes with a remote. The screen tilts, sound isn't great but not bad for a portable player.

Perfect size, screen swivels for ease of use and the screen picture is very clear. The sound is pretty good, but I use it with a portable speaker most of the time.

I found these on Amazon for $47, so I bought two. Picture quality is not great, but acceptable. Adequate volume. A/V output to TV works fine with proper aspect ratios, but the A/V output jack is flawed. Using a standard A/V output cable, yellow is for video; red & white are audio. On this thing, white is video - yellow & red are audio. Also, 16x9 DVDs look fine on the unit's small screen, but 4x3 videos cannot be set properly from the setup menu. The 4x3 images are either stretched wide or compressed to a little less than 4x3, resulting in slightly tall, skinny images. I wasn't going to return them due to the low price, but the more I think about it ...

This turned out to be a horrible purchase for the following reasons:1. The video resolution was very poor and everything looked blockish and cartoonish.2. The video play was always lagging and if there was any scratches on the disk, the player could not handle it at all. Most players can handle playing a disk that is lightly scratched and will continue to play regardless, this one could not at all. I verified this with a few disks, and even when playing a disk in perfect condition, the playback lagged/jumped several times, the same disk in any other player in my house played perfectly.3. The motor that spins the disk was far too noisy, it made almost twice as much noise as the portable player we had before this.4. Since this is supposed to be a portable player, it was impossible to move from one place to another while playing. It would skip or freeze up as soon as you carefully lift it, which means this player would be completely useless on any normal road trip.Sorry, but this player was just a disappointment and went right back.
