Jolie Extra Long-Wear Cake Eyeliner (Black)

Since the cake eyeliner in the chrome looking rectangular box sold by Clinique has been discontinued I have had a terrible time finding something else to use. I hate the pencils!This water activated eye liner is the closest thing to the discontinued brand. A bit pricey but will last a long time. I am very happy with this Jolie liner.

My go-to cake eyeliner has been discontinued so I tried this one as a replacement. It is easy to apply and lasts a long time. I like the brown-black color rather than a harsh all black. It's a nice compact design and should last a long time.

Did Clinique ruin your day when they discontinued their cake eyeliner? Me too. I've tried 3 from Amazon so far, and so far this is the best. This came in the exact same case as one of the losers, which had me a bit apprehensive, but the product is definitely different. It's not exactly Clinique but I think it's as close as we're going to get.

Was powder when it was delivered. Threw it away so can’t return it.

This eyeliner is Fantastic! Color loads up brilliantly on my eyeliner brush by that I mean I get intense creamy color on my brush that applies effortlessly. One and done. I’m a 60 year old woman that had given up eyeliner because cake liner is so hard to find. Using eyeshadow as a liner was “okay” but would fade out ir wear off unevenly. Eyeliner with the “applicators” in the cap have useless brushes or worse, felt tips and I was never satisfied with the fluidity of a fine yet intense line. This works beautifully on the back up line and the tight line too! Tip from back in the day? Buy your eyeliner brush in the art supply store or isle. Pricey but you’ll only buy it once because it holds up to being cleaned thoroughly with alcohol. The color stays as perfect by end of day as it was in the morning.

Although the color was spot on applying it was a chore. When moistened the cake almost instantly dried out. I used a small shot glass as a reservoir to that I could move fast enough to apply without my eyeliner brush (purchased through Amazon) drying up. I'm easy going customer however this product is definitely NOT USER FRIENDLY.

The cake is not a solid/hard cake compact but more powder like to the touch, like an eyeshadow. I used a "solid" cake eyeliner by Laura Mercier and when used with water you could paint your eyeliner on but it's discontinued... I'm sooo SAD!! ☹️ So I assumed from the description that this eyeliner would work the same but it doesn't! I tried to use water but it clumps up bcuz' it's a more powder like consistency. For instance... my old eyeliner, b4 using water, if I touched it would not show up on my finger. This cake when I touched it came off on my finger. I'm gonna continue to look for a hard cake eyeliner that activates with water and when applied will glide on like my Laura Mercier did! Like I said, I'm VERY sad it's discontinued!!!

Just like my mother used to wear. With a good liner brush it’s extremely smooth to put on and doesn’t smudge. Love it.
