Paint-by-numbers are my way back into painting again, it helps me rebuild the hand skills and it forces me to be patient.However I have discovered that I have definite preferences. Getting a framed canvas is one. I like to paint with the canvas on a vertical easel. I find bending over an unmounted canvas is a nightmare. Did it once and quit. I’m too old to do that comfortably I guess. If you don’t get it framed yourself it will add $15-19 to the cost of the painting to add in your own frame.This painting was a bit smaller than I normally do. I’ve been doing 16 x 20” canvases (this one may be number 16). This one is only 12 x 16”. However for a framed canvas it is pretty inexpensive.I found for the most part, the colors were accurate. I will include a photo of the provided 4 x 6” and my own finished canvas. The dark pink was more purple than red in the area on the lower right on the canvas I did, but well within expectations.This canvas had an issue that many of them have however. When you get into yellows and oranges, they don’t cover the numbers well enough and multiple coats are needed and sometimes not sufficient. The opacity of the paint on those colors is insufficient. The white in this one was more opaque, but could have been more.Overall it turned out well.
