MESSMER'S INC WDA-1 Wood 16OZ Part A WD Cleaner

This product does what it says but next time I will use a different approach with it.I have about 120 sq. feet of outdoor stairs and landings that are ipe wood. The ipe oil only lasts half a year due to the harsh sun exposure so reapplication of the oil is necessary for a good look. Last time I used just a pressure washer and with a lot of time the old finish was removed. This time I tried the Messmer's Wood Cleaner to see if it would speed things up. I used a 1 gallon spray tank to mix and apply it to the entire stairs. I could see it "melting" the old oil and was impressed with the effectiveness of the product. I planned on soaking it then to use a brush to loosen the gummy oil, then wash off with a hose. The problem was that it tended to dry to fast. Since it had lifted a lot of the oil from the wood I quickly hooked up the pressure washer and blasted the rest off. Took about half the time as it did last time with the pressure washer alone.Next time I will try a different approach. Since it works so quickly and dries so fast I will work in smaller sections. Maybe 10-20 square foot sections of spraying on the Messmer's then brushing then rinsing. I will have the pressure washer on standby just in case!!Overall this does work really well at stripping old oil and grim off ipe wood and the 16 oz jar will go a long way.

Have an Ipe deck and wasn't sure what to use. This did a great job, will be the cleaner we will continue to use.

This worked very well to remove stains and weathering on my ipe deck. You need to scrub the deck on but it is worth the effort.

Excellent product for removing the silvery oxidation of Ipe and returns the luster to it. Previously had to pay someone 100's of dollars to sand the deck in order to achieve the same results

OK, not great. It did remove a lot of the dirt but not all of it. Of course, it had been 2 years since I cleaned and oiled my ipe deck. You're supposed to let it soak for 10-15 minutes but "do not let it dry out". I found it difficult to keep it from drying out since much of my deck is in full sun until later in the afternoon. I was working in small sections - literally 1 or 2 steps at a time. After soaking, I scrubbed it with a stiff brush and was able to remove a lot of the dirt, but not enough to look really clean. Perhaps I'm too particular. I still had to go over it with a power washer. I guess it saved me some time, but overall I was not impressed.

I bought 2 containers 3 years ago for $20. Tell me what has happened to this product since then??????

Great product. Cleaned the wood exceptionally well. Took off water damage and dirt easily. Scrub and rinse and done!

This product did not work well on our composite deck. It took very little dirt out. We had to power wash the whole deck after using one whole container of this product. Would not recommend, sorry.
