I purchased this to tear down some grass I dug up for new footpaths I am putting in around new garden beds I am building up – to re-use the topsoil. Although a bit time consuming, the process works great. I wear gloves and tear up the sod by hand while holding over the screen placed on a five gallon bucket – then rubbing the soil against the screen. Well sifted soil is the result.I recommend the largest size - 1/2" screen. Anything smaller clogs up easily. Suggestion to the manufacturer - make a 5/8" or 3/4" screen version - the process would go faster. Also for any re design with larger screens - make the walls surrounding the screen a bit deeper.I also purchased the 1/8” screen size – too small for my purposes but I’ll keep it to screen already sifted top or potting soil, for seedlings or bonsai.Good product would recommend to anyone doing small amounts of soil sifting. If doing large amounts of soil though I recommend a much larger solution that will be more time effective.

Well worth the money my husband used it to grade his meal worms.

I used the sifter to strain out old clover seed pods as I switched a sand drain field from clover to wildflowers. It was a critical step in the process which I could not have achieved without the strainer/sifter.

This strainer works well for rock tumbling.

This is a great classifier. It helps remove the smaller rocks from the dirt.
