Bad Vendor Service - Good Ploy for more $$$
I received a dead battery and the watch did not run. The vendor replied that my watch needed cleaning -- a service they could provide. (Although I specifically said the watch is working with existing battery.) They said this battery was "not like other batteries you've tried in the past". I have replaced this same battery with voltage regulator in my 1965 Bulova Accutron Astronaut several times over the past 54 years. Trust me... This seemed like a ploy to get more service. I purchased a new battery from another vendor on E-bay. My watch is just fine. I just lost $20 to "Old Father Time"!
