I am a 87-year-old woman and I will be wearing this dress to an informal wedding on a day that is expected to be over 90 degrees hot! The fabric is a light rayon. I understand rayon is cooler than polyester. It comes stuffed into a plastic bag. I put the dress in the dryer with a damp cloth for about 5 minutes and it took most of the wrinkles out. Because it is solid navy blue, a slip will not be necessary. The style is very basic, with the exception of a variation in the front hem and the back hem. The back hem is about 2" longer than the front. I think it would be suitable for most any age. Because ths dress is so plain, it definitely needs jewelry. I am 5 ' 3.5" tall and weigh 130 pounds. I will wear the elastic waistband on my waist. The blousy effect hides my not so small waist. The hem hits at the knee, which is most flattering for my height and weight. This dress is very comfortable to wear, thanks to the elastic waistband. I think I will be enjoying this dress for many different occasions. I cannot speak for the durability of the dress as I have not laundered it yet.

The fabric is nice. It is not sheer in the navy blue. It does run big. I am normally XL. The L fit better. The biggest disappointment is the waist. Like others have commented, the waistband is not elastic. It is fixed with a non-elastic drawstring. That said, if you have an apple figure you may want to order your normal size so the waist and bust line will fit comfortably. Women with smaller waist to hip ratios should be ok sizing down, unless they have a fuller bustline. The dress is well made. It can easily be styled for work or church or casual by changing your shoe style. The slit is not above the knee if you like a modest cut.

I'm 5'3", 170 pounds and bought a large. I am very happy with how this dress fits and feels. I bought it in black and so it may not be as see through as the lighter colors but I always wear a slip with any dress or skirt anyway, not only to prevent being able to see through a garment but to also protect me from having a dress or skirt stick to me, in the worst place, after I've been sitting in it. If anything sticks, especially in the summer, it'll be the slip not the dress, thereby preventing any embarrassing moments. I plan on buying a few others, short and long sleeved, especially for travel because I washed it and hung it to dry and it was dry and wrinkle free overnight. perhaps that's one of the benefits of it not being too thick. I can also layer very easily, giving me a variety of looks with one dress.

I loved this dress when it was new. The fit and comfort were wonderful. Just be aware that the fabric does not hold up well. Repeated washings create fabric piling and discoloration. The neck stretches when hung on a hanger. This can be avoided by folding the dress in half at the elastic waist and draping it over the hanger.

Not as flattering as item description to hide mid section, but it's cute pattern and comfy. For the price it's a keeper. Use for swim cover up and running errands. Not fancy enough for a dinner dress or work.

UPDATE: One wash on gentle in the washing machine and there is a slight change, I don’t want to say deterioration in the material of the blue and white striped dress. It’s very subtle fray in the fibers, but not distressing, the fibers that is not me, I’m still loving the dress, but I think wash only when necessary, as I said earlier the material reminds me of denim, that is can me worn a few times and even with some coffee/juice spills, no staining and stays wearable and I dare say clean (the juice didn’t show up on a light colored dress as a stain). As for differences in the material of some patterns from others, YES THE FABRIC COMPOSITION VARIES BY PATTERN. It says so on the tags. Striped dresses are the softest I’ve found, polka dot is more cotton, polyester feel, solid color dresses are soft but very slightly less soft than stripes. Bought the leopard print dress for my 80 year old mom, she loves it and she looked lovely in it, so truly a flattering, well made dress.I love this dress so much I’ve been practically tattooed in it for the last two weeks. It’s soft and so comfortable, keeps me cool as I live in Satan’s crack, pockets are nice and deep, no worries about my phone slipping out, hides my tummy, but still versatile that I can opt not to tie it but pull the waistline down to lengthen the dress and it still looks good. To me the winning feature is the softness of the fabric. It seems very well made as my watch and glasses have gotten snagged a few times in the fabric and there’s no damage.I’m a little concerned because it’s so soft it may not wash well in the washing machine, I just hand washed briefly before the first wear so I’ve not put it in the washer yet even on gentle. I might just continue to hand wash. Was waiting til the others got here to toss it into the washing machine. I’ve just been steaming it as I re-wear and honestly it still smells pretty new.One caveat I’ve ordered more based on this dress, so I can’t speak to the difference in fabrics other buyers have spoken about, more polyester versus rayon. Will update when I get them.The size small which I bought is very roomy and runs larger than size small in other brands but I like the fit.

This dress is comfortable but a bit too casual for me to wear to our very traditional law office, even with a blazer. But I like the fit and fabric. Length is perfect.

This dress is a very comfortable and it can be dressy, or it can just be a casual nice look!I love it and it’s one that goes every where!

Great fabric and design but I need one at least two sizes smaller. It is a lovely dress in 100% cotton but much too large.

No zip, can adjust on midriff area accordingly. Will get a few more pieces.
