I bought this recipe box for myself but would absolutely gift it. It is well made and sturdy. I like the cards that came with it and the fact that there is a slot on the top of the box to put the card you're using in. My issue is with a couple small, very small, imperfections on the outside of the box. There are a couple tiny nicks along the edges. I assume it was caused during production and does not cause any issues with the use of the product. They are small enough that I decided to keep it instead of ask for a replacement, but did take off a star for it. I wish we could use partial stars because I'd honestly give it a 4.75 out 5 stars instead of just 4.

Disclaimer - I share this account with my husband. During quarantine I wanted to organize all the fun recipes I’ve received from family, friends, chili cook offs, etc and have them all in the same size card in one place. This box filled the list of qualities I was looking for - classic style, durable, attractive for counter without being too trendy, and had a bonus feature. The ridge chiseled on the top with the plastic protective sleeve are perfect. My current menagerie of clippings, cards and scraps of paper were all stained, worn and had missing areas where I’ve just spilled too much on the recipe. Slowly recopying recipes and loving the new box with all its room and usefulness. Awesome gift, bridal shower idea (yes, I did one for my daughter and included blank cards in every invite- great gift). Great cookie exchange or chili cook off prize.

Bought this for a nephew for Christmas who loves to cook. The box itself is well made and should last a life time. The recipe cards are sturdy and fit well into the box. The recipe dividers are nice, although a few more categories, or even a few blank dividers would be a nice touch. The slot on top of the box is handy to hold the recipe that you are currently working on . Good item and we plan on filling out several recipe cards with old family favorite recipes that my nephew will really like.

Updated review- After returning the 1st damaged Item, (prior to sending back the 2nd damaged one) I was I was contacted by Vinealley’s customer service. They offered to send a replacement at no charge. I took them up on the offer as my wife really wanted this as a recipe box for her sisters bridal shower. The new one showed up the next day in perfect shape. The item is sturdy, the hinges are of a higher quality than most on an item of this price, and the overall fit and finish is excellent. Their customer service was superb and took careof what, I assume to be, unavoidable damage on an item that is easy to damage in shipping. Highly recommend.Beautiful product - seems well-made and sturdy, but had to return 2 due to scratches on top of box. Would not recommend.

I am using it as a diary for my granddaughter’s college years. I keep her letters, in order, about her experiences in college. She is at the University of Wisconsin, Madison and I plan on giving it to her as part of her graduating present when she graduates. I have 2 other granddaughters and I will do the same for them. The box is sturdy, has a great latch and is very nice looking. Doesn’t have recipe printed on the front. Will be ordering 2 more. One this year and one next year.

Very well made. I also like that the dividers are A-Z instead of by type of dish. I docked a star because it did not come with recipe cards. I was so excited to start putting recipes in it from all the random pictures on my phone, but now I have to wait until I get recipe cards. It's not a big deal, but I wish the description had been more clear. I tried to figure out before I ordered if it came with cards and couldn't tell.

It looks really nice before you examine it, so it sits nicely in our kitchen. It is perfect for serving as our own simple recipe box, but the craftsmanship isn't nice enough that I would give it as a gift. I do love the recipe card prop/protector feature though.

I like the design of the box. It goes well with the kitchen. It's a beautiful color. It comes with recipe dividers divided into the alphabet and a recipe protector (both are wrapped inside the box).However, I question the gift ability of it. The box I recieved came with some a whiteish spot on it. It's nothing I can scrap off. It's only in a small area though. I'm not exactly sure what caused it. I would buy this again for myself though.
