Gives bright tone to clarinet
This ligature holds the reed in such a way that it vibrates easily and gives a bright tone to the clarinet.

Good fit for m13
Bought the m13 mouthpiece for my daughter. This was the perfect fit for it.

Nice up grade.
As a beginner I can only say I like it it’s my first up grade to my clarinet. But as a beginner I did have to look up on how to use it. There was not instructions or paperwork with it. I know others would know how to use it but I didn’t. Has it improved my playing? Can’t say it has really other the I like the screw in the front instead of near my chin.

Great improvement on a classic
I have been using Vandoren products for a long time and i purchased this ligature to replace my bent vandoren two-screw ligature that was about 25 years old. This is a great improvement in design because the screw pulls from both sides evenly. The two spots that touch the reed are the same minimal design, recommended by my teacher for the best response and bright sound.

Excellent Ligature, but it's not leather...
From looking at the photo and then looking up the model number, I figured out prior to buying it that this was not a leather ligature (which I did not want) -- but I just wanted to make it clear to any other shopper that this is a black medal ligature. The design is perfect, I love the simplicity of the single (rather than double) screw, the notched two points of reed contact are perfect, allowing for the right amount of hold while still allowing nice vibration of the reed. My son has been "gifted" at playing the clarinet from the start, but this ligature makes it even easier for him, and has even improved his sound. It's also easier for him (as a beginner) to put the reed on the clarinet with this more simplistic ligature. Being notched to fit the reed really helps to install the reed properly aligned on the mouthpiece. On a less technical note, I think it being black and blending in with the mouthpiece looks cool, too.

Really, really great ligature
I have several ligatures and have tried several more. I first received this ligature WITH a mouthpiece. I did not get along well with the mouthpiece, so I returned it, and of course, the ligature had to go too. But I missed it! I love how it is so quick to align the reed and KEEP it aligned when tightening the ligature. To me, it sounds no different than my Silverstein (really, really expensive) ligature. Perhaps the Silverstein is a bit warmer, so I may keep using that for recording. But when I am working with reeds, changing them over and over during a session, the Silverstein is more cumbersome. Long story short, I ordered the M/O ligature by itself, because I missed it so much, and it is a keeper. I use it with my Grabner mouthpieces, it probably would work with all mouthpieces.

A Fine Ligature When it Fits
I bought the pewter M/O to match a Selmer Centered Tone clarinet with unplated keys, which it does quite well.Compared to the pricier Vandoren Optimum ligature, the M/O is very light and simple. Some may find it flimsy, but I call it delicate. I believe this trait allows the reed to vibrate more freely. There are no fancy interchangeable plates, just two bands that hold the reed in place. However, I prefer to play a Grabner K14 mouthpiece with Légère Signature reeds, which are quite thin. Unfortunately, the reeds are so thin that the ligature’s uppermost contact point doesn’t touch the reed, leaving it free to slide about. Because of the M/O single screw mechanism there’s no way to adjust it. With the thicker Vandoren cane reeds, this isn’t a problem. The Vandoren Optimum fits more mouthpiece and reed combinations because the pressure plate pivots.Overall, it’s a fine simple ligature with an elegant appearance, but beware that it may not fit all mouthpiece and reed combinations.

Great product in general.
I purchased this ligature and it arrived only 2 days after I ordered it!I used it for a recital the day it arrived and it has amazing out-of-the-box playability. It makes a warm, sweet tone on my instrument. However, when you store it on a mouthpiece with a mouthpiece cap, it is a pretty tight fit, not sure if that's how it is supposed to be.

Ottimo upgrade
Presa in accoppiata con il Vandore BD4 serie 13... La fascetta è molto performante e per il momento mi ci trovo bene. Aggiornerò in seguito.

Buona legatura
Molto leggera fa vibrare bene l'ancia ma rimane un po fastidioso il centraggio dell'ancia per via del passaggio obbligato..molto buono lo staccato..consiglio di non stringere troppo la fascetta
