48.5"W Vinyl Cottage Picket Gate

I purchased this gate to go with their Westchester Arbor. I was nervous after reading many of these reviews, but it seems they have taken a lot of the feedback into account in recent years and have added additional screws and wood block inserts to stabilize the gate.I would like to disclaim that my arbor was installed with wood posts inserted so the gate was screwed into wood not just plastic which helped.I think for the price of this system I’m very happy with the look and feel of it. Only major complaint is that the directions lack a little clarity but customer service is very available and helpful.

All the components are neatly packaged in one box. The assembly is easy. We did not have to supplement the kit included with any other type of screw, etc. Mounting takes a little experience or two people to make sure everything is straight, balanced and appropriately hung. The hardware is good quality and the appearance is beautiful.

Nice looking gate, I did not think the small screws supplied (2 for each corner) would hold up well for daily use. I cut down a 2X4 , inserted in each corner, and one 2X4 for the hinge side. Now the screws have more solid mounting. I like the gate, I think it could have been made a little beefier in regards to where it gets screwed together, and where the hinges mount.

The fence is quite pretty. Does look nice once installed.

Gate is stable and easy to assemble. The latch is cheap but works. The hinges are for a 4x4 and not a 2x4 but are good quality.

We used this in conjunction with the Nantucket Legacy Arbor and it works perfectly. The only thing we didn’t know was that we needed to buy a piece of 1”x4” board to insert into the arbor post to support the weight of the gate. Not a problem at all but we had to stop to go get one. Other than that, this is a really nice gate and complements the arbor! Recommended!

This is held together with self tapping screws in vinyl. All of my screws popped out of the plastic the first day I set it up. To fix this I will have to replace the screws with long bolts and nuts. Haven't done this yet, lets see what else goes wrong.

A quality product and works very well. You may need longer screws for the latch as it can loosen quickly when used a lot.
