This is a very very nice cookbook filled with a lot of great recipes
A very great and beautiful cookbook thatโs evolved around what other than okra!!! I love it and I most definitely love okra prepared in nearly every other way that Iโve had it prepared or served, rather by anyone else or even in any other way than that Way at all. I love okra and the way that okras prepared especially here in the south where Iโm fromโฆ (here where I Was born and raised. Thatโs totally everything about me and everything about everything. I love okra and my favorite 2 ways of eating and preparing everything about cooking/frying my own is exactly and I love to have my okra batter fried and I also love having it boiled on my own and then served like that but served in a pickled like solution itself

Excellent way to free up fridge space.
If you live in the deep south( or anywhere very hot and humid for that matter), and have grown okra, you know that it goes absolutely crazy when almost everything else in the garden is dying off from the heat...Which means that you soon end up with more okra than you can justify frying. So instead of giving it all away(which is almost impossible considering the pervasive hatred of okra in our country), I purchased this book, and so far, all the recipes I've tried are amazing, and they really give me something to do with all this okra...I'm almost wishing I had planted more!(almost..)Only complaint would be that some small details are missing from the instructions on some of the recipes..For example, it didn't specify on a particular recipe whether or not certain ingredients were supposed to be whole or diced, chopped, or what have you.. But it wasn't really that big of a deal.Either way, if you have a lot of okra and don't know what to do with it, this book is worth a shot.

I love Virginia Willis
I love Virginia Willis, surely the queen of Southern cooking. I find myself in the South for the year and okra is one of the main staples here. I've made a few of her recipes and they are great. Thanks Virginia!

Skip this one - do a search!
Give this scant (and pricey) book a two - mainly due to there being absolutely no illustrations. This is a personal thing, but I loathe Cookbooks devoid of photos. I really like to see what the dishes look like, both for selecting and seeing where I am supposed to be headed. Also pretty bland for the price. Did better googling Okra...Back of the shelf for this one.

Okra
Only Virginia Willis and her (good) fool proof recipes could convince folks to eat okra.
