Not 100% watertight but close enough
I tested these by submerging them in a pot of water with weights. Of the ten that came in the container 8 did not take on any water after an hour of being submerged. It's also possible the two that did take on water did so because the weight may not have been evenly distributed causing the lid to bend enough to break the seal. These are made well enough to be confident they will not take on water in outdoor applications under normal circumstances.

solid boxes
Using these to splice 12v LED lighting around boat dock. Yes, I had to drill holes, but once sealed w/some silicone, they are working well. Lid pops off if I need access to wiring. Used roofing screws with rubber grommets to keep sealed in back. 2 hard rains, completely dry inside. Will try a couple in flowerbeds for landscaping lights. Should work fine.

Good thing g they come in 10-packs…
Cutting a square opening for displays? Prepare to sacrifice one or two. The plastic is brittle and will crack easily. Here’s how I got results: score the opening with a razor. Be patient and get a bit of depth. THEN drill out any areas you’ll be removing. From there, use nippers and go at this stuff like it’s ceramic or glass. It’ll break pretty reliably on a scored line. From there, file/sand to suit you.

Gaps
Fine for the price, but they dont stay closed and there is always a gap or warping on the cover, every box has this flaw. Using ziptie or tape to hold them closed. Cannot use a screw the plastic is too flimsy

A great little project box
Simple snap together, no screws to screw with. Included plastic pick is for opening them up, best when running it on the longer edge. Not sure if its water resistance.

Worth the money!
This is a very nice project box, and a great value. I like the fact the lid doesn’t screw down. This saves space inside of the case where posts would have to be placed to screw into. I do wish that there was some type of locking mechanism to keep the case closed. It does still open easier than i would like.
