Worked okay when i first got it, but there were some bugs. I emailed Mothca, and they sent me a new firmware (digital files to update the unit via windows PC to USB). Night and day difference. The recording doesn't force quit all of the time, I no longer have to worry about checking to see if it has started. Google Play Music doesn't "skip" or hesitate (best I can describe it, it is like somebody pauses then unpauses the song for an instant) as often now (now it is once every 4-5 songs, used to be 2x every song). I don't use the tracking component (they seem to use a shared server, and I don't want anyone else accessing/tracking my device), so I can't say how well that works. FM transmitter works well, I can hear music and calls clearly over the radio. Bluetooth call receiving works cleanly, I don't ever make calls while I'm driving, so I can't speak to that. Hangouts call receiving directly on the mirror works well, but I haven't been able to make Hangouts my default call app for placing calls. The unit has a custom Android Home screen that you cannot modify with shortcuts or widgets (may be able to install another Launcher, but it would not have the DVR view in the home screen). It only adds app shortcuts to the secondary App Screen/drawerwhen they are installed. This means you cannot add buttons for the preinstalled Google apps like Hangouts. There is also no standard app drawer. If you want to access a preinstalled app, you must go to the Play Store, select the app, and open it from there (opening it from a notification works as well). I tried a couple of times to enable OK Google functuons, but I gave up. It works excellent as a dashcam, great as a backup cam (does not record the backup cam still), great as a music player, okay as a phone. The mirror color is Smoked, so there is no need for a dim position at night. It is a very wide view, I can see nearly pillar to pillar without the mirror area taken by the screen, I think it is at least slightly convex.

The concept itself is excellent and is a great alternative for solving several needs that some customers may have. I think my product is defective and that's why it's not working but I think this chinese company needs to invest more in quality and making sure the product works fine. Bluetooth disconnects very often from my phone, though when I was able to have a stable connection, calls worked flawlessly and music played well. The device got disconnected because apparently it couldn't sync all of my address book contacts (which are over 400). The FM transmitter didn't work on my unit. I tried with almost every possible station and I could only hear static (barely heard music when playing it). Android works fairly ok and apps are fast to load. The DVR options work really well and video quality is good. My product will self reboot at times and the buttons and screen kind of flickered (I tried with 2 different power inputs and it happened with both). During daylight, driver can't really see because of reflection but copilot has good viewing angle. Despite all of these, if the product was manufactured with better quality, this would be a must purchase for vehicles without an advanced car stereo system.

Awsome unit! Takes a bit to learn usage. But have not failed after 2 months of almost conyinuous use. The only quirk is the reverse camera. Doesn't kick on every time.

This device seems a spy machine, does not matter you off blue tooth put in airplane mode still it will try to connect to your phone and phone will ask you to grant let it read all your contacts.I think google shoud take note as well not allow google market acess to this spybox.

The product is really not well made and is not worth the time or money. They have virtually no customer service. For more than six months now I have been trying to resolve the same issue and no results. Firstly, the operating system is buggy - it glitches, causing the mirror to shut off unexpectedly or cycle through restart until you drain the battery (because you can't shut it off otherwise). So, imagine using the dash cam feature or any other feature like the rearview camera without having a stable device. It just defeats the purpose of having it.So, just eliminate those two as features. What's left? The tracker that they advertised as being able to track the location of your car simply does not work. Even they can't figure out why I can't see the location of my car on their website or the app, and the last woman (or man) that I communicated with just disappeared. After giving me the run around for several months - asking me what I mean, or to provide photos - which I knew were just decoy questions, and after I have provided all that, she just stopped responding. So, in the end, all you're left with is a mirror with an LCD screen that has an android operating system. Basically, all it's good for is google maps - which you can easily access on your phone. Also, it burned my car fuses - I presume because of the OS glitch that triggers something inside. And you can't do anything - because the manufacturer is in China. It's not like you can complain or demand money back. They simply don't respond.

Great device!!!!The ROM already the newest. So, no any crashes so far.And the device is really fast. If the screen can be moved to the left side of the mirror, it will be perfect. This is because I feel I need to turn my eyes too much to see the map and I cannot really see the very small fonts clearly since it's too far away.... But, this is not a deal breaker.I am in Google's Project Fi, so I can have a data only sim card for free and they only charge me $10 per GB.If you have any problems, contact the seller. He is super helpful.If you want to backup the videos, you can install Google photos and use the unlimited storage to backup your important videos. I am not sure Google allows us to backup REALLY unlimited video. This may be considered abuse.
