Contour 2800 Windshield Mount Kit for ContourHD, ContourGPS, and Contour+

In contradiction to what a couple other reviewers are posting, this mount DOES work with the ContourHD 1080p. Either the mount makers have made a small change with the one I have, since the posts saying it didnt fit were from a while ago, or those posters were idiots. It is a little tight and takes a tiny bit of force, but who wants one that slides around easily? I have seen and used many windshield mounts for different things like radar detectors, and GPS devices and I have NEVER seen or used a mount that was as well made and sturdy as this. I just used it the other day to do some videos of when I fly in my helicoper and they were great. There was almost no vibration while I was flying, and these copters are not smooth by any stretch of the imagination. The main arm is a screw down type with teeth. The secondary are is a friction ball that works very well. I flew for 2 hours with it positioned at a 90 degree angle with gravity and vibration fighting against it and it never slipped. Between quality and price this thing is a no brainer purchase. If I had to pick one flaw I would have to say it is a bit large, but that points towards the attribute of its being sturdy. Get one.

I just purchased the Contour Suction Cup mount and used it in my 4x4 truck for the first time today. After an extremely speedy delivery I unboxed the mount and was surprised at the weight. This mount appears to be build very well. I was impressed by the range of option for adjustment and configuration along with a large robust suction cup. I proceeded to mount my ContourHD 1080P camera and it appeared to fit the mount fine, although a bit snug I would rather have the unit install tight over loose. After I mounted the unit to my windshield and started to drive I noticed that the camera shakes quite a bit due to the suction cup having a gap between it and the metal cup attached to the mount arm. This is not a huge issue and can be fixed by wedging something small into the gap to stabilize the camera a bit better but it sure is a small annoyance. All in all, the mount worked as promised and the build quality is far better than I have seen in other products which mount with suction cup systems but I would sure like to see that rubber cup fit more snug to the base.

This mount works great; I use it on plastic motorcycle fairings and it works perfectly. Contrary to another comment, this mount does in fact fit the current Contour cameras. I purchased both on Amazon in Sept 2011, and they fit together just fine.The mount is much more flexible than the similar mount for the GoPro brand of cameras. Nothing against the GoPro, I've used it as well and has pros/cons from the camera's standpoint. But the Contour suction mount allows tilting in all axis which is critical when fitting on the side of the bike. It allows up/down, left/right and side/side because it has a ball mount, vs. just single pivot like the GoPro mount.My only gripe is that i wish the heads on the thumbscrews for securing the camera were a bit bigger. Not a big deal though. But they are plastic (to avoid damaging the camera), so may be hard finding spares elsewhere.I'm guessing the ball could probably be removed and used with Panavise's other hard-mounts. In all, its a great deal.

I have the contour HD 1080p and it fits this mount perfectly. Maybe they've changed the design of the mount since the other reviews have been made. I'm pleased with it. My only complaint is that it's primarily made of plastic. It would have been nice to see a limited friction bearing surface for the suction cup mount clamp. However, it performs great out of the box. I've had this item for a month and install and remove it from my windshield daily. It never moves once clamped into place and it provides an excellent amount of shock absorption from the vehicle. Video turns out just a smooth as if the car wasn't moving. The only reason I don't give it 5 stars is that I'd prefer to see more metal for longevity... but.. for the price, maybe I should have given it a 5.

When I attach this to my windshield it reminds me of the police "dash cams": sturdy, unobtrusive and ready for anything. I mounted this to the side fairing of my BMW motorcycle and, without a tether, used it for about 400 miles one day with no worries - tight and twisty, all the way up to 100mph. Rather, there were no worries AFTER I parked the bike. During the ride I constantly gave the cam a visual to make sure it was there and at every stop it was mounted as solidly as ever. I think next time a tether (perhaps fishing line?) would be a good idea.

This PanaVise suction cup mount has been a great addition to my little stable of ContourGPS accessories. It feels well built and very substantial...not worried about it breaking. It is mostly made of thick, strong plastic but the rails where the camera attaches are sturdy metal. The suction cup has stayed securely mounted to my windshield and hasn't fallen once, a problem I've experienced with other suction cup mounts before.I highly recommend if you are off roading or any other time you need to use your Countour to grab video.

This windshield mount holds like crazy. I used it on my SUV to video some extreme 4x4 action and the mount held on without an issue to the hood, windows, and a steel bumper though miles of bumpy forest trail and hard rock crawling. It's flexible ball mount and the camera's ability to rotate 180 degrees allows you to capture nearly any angle possible. It's lightweight plastic which means it's light enough for use on a motorcycle panel and comes clean with a bit of soap and water.

This is a very well made windshield mount that also fits on the tank of my motorcycle! The suction cup is extremely strong and even at high speed and with lot's of vibration, the mount stays perfectly in place. I even tried it on my motorcycle helmet and it works fine!Only bug, the two screws to fix the camera to the mount adapter will come off if you unscrew them too much... Almost lost one in the gutter! They shouldn't come off completely but besides that, very well made!
