The Burden: A warning of things to come

Thought Provoking and True!
I found this booklet to be not only intriguing, but encouraging and thought-provoking. Whether it's prophecy, poetry, prose, or simply one's perspective on Scripture, I, personally, am too - how can I express it- reverent, fearful, or disagree with quoting God, unless the exact words are found in scriptures. I can not say if or when someone has a "word or message" from God....only God and the individual knows that. I believe the authors interpretation is Biblical, whether prophecy or a special word from God or not. It certainly makes it clear what the world can expect, and we had certainly better be ready to meet Christ because He is coming back as Judge and Ruler of His creation!!! My favorite part was the "Talking Heads and Computer" sections. The world needs to awaken from our stupor! We truly are like sheep without a Shepherd. But we DO have a Shepherd- Jesus the Messiah- if only we will believe in Him, trust and obey Him as Savior and LORD. We don't have to spend eternity in he'll, we have a choice to make and spend eternity with Jesus, the Creator of all.

Beautifully done!
This is such a profound work of beauty and everyone needs to prayerfully study it and ask the Lord for understanding. I can't imagine anyone reading it and not being spiritually moved.

The Burden is truth told passionately...
Excellent read. All people should heed the warning. Learn the truth. God is real. Seek him. Scripture is weaved skillfully as the author tells the reader the truth with a passionate fervor that time is running out. Mercy is there. Arms open wide. Today is the day of salvation. Seek God now while he still can be found.

An Awesome Read
Paul Thigpen , like Fulton Sheen has a beautiful knowledge of Scripture that translates into these beautiful and prophetic meditations. Though he does not claim any of his words to be prophetic, anyone who reads Scripture on a regular basis can see that human history has a way of repeating itself mostly because we fail to listen to the wisdom and warnings of those who have gone before us. All who read this book with an open mind can see what lies ahead if we but start looking to God rather than to ourselves to get out of this mess we have made of God's beautiful gift to humanity.

Definitely a read and share book!
I first read this when it was published two years ago and it blew me away. I loaned it to someone and never saw it again. I recently purchased it again and it is just as powerful the second time around. I cannot help but feel that this is prophetic Dr. Thigpen sees what we should all be seeing. When we watch what is going on in the world and the massive turning away from God and all that is good, we have to know that our time is limited. I would recommend buying a few copies at once, so you can keep one and give the others as gifts. Give especially to those who are in the most need of redemption.

A tour de force
The cry to the people the author is burdened FOR: the lost, the unseeing, the uncaring. A warning to "prepare to meet your God." We all will, one day. And that day may be at our doorstep, as too few are aware. A day of our own death, of course, but also a Day of the Lord, when the earth itself is destroyed. The poetry is stunningly evocative, the words and the warnings a cri de coeur., every line and thought from scripture. I wish and pray everyone possible will read this book and go to their knees to repent and rise up to follow the Lord.

The Burden
I read this book in one setting, I could not put it down. It held my attention and so easy to understand. It sure leaves one to take a good look at where they are in their life. I would highly recommend this book.

Interesting and different.
Impressive piece of work.Good overview of present society and it's ills. Some passages are very touching or striking. Will it tell you something you don't already know? Maybe not. Nevertheless, a good read for your own "reality check", to remind you where you need to reform your life. I read it in a couple of hours, so a quick read but something you could dip into and re-read from time to time. Just remember it is the fruit of someone's imagination and study and NOT necessarily correct in every point of view expressed.
