Decent but not USGI quality
it is stainless steel but noticably lighter than USGI kit I dont mind the thinner material in the pan and plate but handle needs to be sturdier thats what gives it a flimsy feel, im sure it will hold up fine for camping use. also handle is riveted to pan not spot welded like the real thing. overall its still a good kit for price just dont expect the same heavy duty USGI quality you were issued.

Just above flimsy
The material is not very thick. Just a notch above flimsy.

Amazing Mess Kit!
As a recently divorced single dad, I gave up on having a traditional kitchen set. I replaced so much of what I had with This mess kit. My 11 yo son and I cook with this everyday and come up with new ways of frying, sauteeing, and even baking in this thing! Stainless is great as if you drop this, it doesn't shatter or break. The pan is durable but not overly heavy or cumbersome. It washes up really easy and stores nicely in a cupboard next the the rest of the minimalist kitchen essentials we use! Great for everyday use on the range or to take with you camping, backpacking, RVing, etc. Perfect gift for anyone!

I love it.
This is everything it should be. The negative reviews are from people who either don't know how to cook properly on these types of mess kits, or they're cooking their everyday food in it. Its a much better quality than most other more expensive mess kits. It is stainless steel, not the cheaper aluminum. Im considering buying a backup one.

Thinner than genuine mil-issue but absolutely suitable
I appreciate the lighter weight, and while it is easier to ding by a bit, it's stainless steel and not un-anodized aluminum, making it suitable as an impromtu pan or shallow pot (although I'd recommend a canteen cup for the latter). I store and reheat my unfinished MREs in it by sealing it closed (and putting duct tape around it just to be extra sure) and putting it on top of my ruck/pack contents then reheat it over a fire later. I'd recommend it.

Good camp gear.
It’s ok. You get what you pay for here. This is a well designed product from a portability perspective and served the purpose I needed it to. Good rough camp gear. I do not regret the purchase. Just don’t expect it to measure up to your all clad stainless kitchen set lol. This is definitely for roughing it.

Good deal
Just like the one when I was in the Military. Have not used this one but used the reck out of the one in the military. Did not come with Spoone, Fork, and Knife

Fantastic
Love these mess kits. High quality steel. Our family ate all our meals out of these for a week when we were camping. Good to put on the fire, stove, and oven.

Good quality food standard stainless steel
I quite like the Goatland products if you season them like your Nan would have done years ago when we had non-stick products you'll be surprised at just how well they work the main thing you need to remember is to keep it lightweight it is thin stainless steel so you need to keep it a reasonable distance from your flame for even cooking if you're having to cook in your tent you can use the dish on the top to stop the spitting that you get say when you cooking some bacon I like the way that the top can also be used as two separate dishes so let's use for example we want some scrambled egg and chopped tomatoes in your fried breakfast whisk your eggs up in one side and chocolate tomatoes on the other side while you're cooking a bacon and a sausage in a pan and of course the other great thing with it being stainless steel you can just hang it from your backpack you don't have to worry about putting away in something in taking up space and if you're in an area where you have little water supply you can use anything from wood shavings sand even mosses and grasses to clean it up rather than wasting what little water supply you might have the beauty obviously is with its clip handle you could put your sausages and bacon eggs tomatoes little tub of olive oil in a bag sat inside small Trick of the day if you want to carry some eggs in there and you just have it hanging from your rucksack you don't want to arrive at your destination to find the break so stick a bit bubble wrap around the egg and in any void to stop it moving around and breaking

just right for a one man camp
Got it today and cant wait to use it next time i go camping, just the right size for me and love the long handle to keep it away from the open fire heat.

Nice and lightweight
I like the overall design of this and it's just a pity that the steel is so thin, but it still does the job

Great mess tin
Very light weight-and compact, if you prep food at home you can store inside the pan!Surprisingly it doesn't stick as long as you let the oil heat up.

child size
would be a small meal for a child, would not recommend for serious backing or camping.
