NCE NCE5240205 Block Module Detector/DCC, 0.01 to 20A BD20 by NCE

In my opinion NCE makes a quality product. This is perfect for lighting signal lights for long spans of track. I have multiple long tunnels on my layout and these allow me to keep track of just where the trains are by lighting signal lights at the tunnel portals. With 5 running at the same time on 2 diffrent levels its easy to loose track of one.

Works well... This has a pretty specific use so if you bought it you know how to use it. I use it to activate a relay for crossing lighting and it works very well for that. The documentation could be a little better (maybe more examples) but the website is clear.

Detects when it should and turns off when it should. I did not need to adjust sensitivity. Detected engine, 10K resistor, and dampened finger.

Worked as advertised

I paid $19 and came back for a couple more because they work great but prices here went from $19 to $30 so I’ll pass and get the Arduino current sensor at $7. Retail is $15 so shop around.
