Still holds up after all these years
We currently live in an age of gaming in which challenge is something gamers tend not to crave, not when it comes to a single-player adventure anyway. Gamers generally prefer to just walk right through a game, take in the story along the way, and then move on to something else. This is why, in this age of gaming, gamers fear the name Ninja Gaiden. Or, at least, they used to. More on that later. The prevailing notion is that games are supposed to allow you to beat them. While games normally accomplish this task in a way that satisfies gamers looking to mash buttons and kick some ass, what Ninja Gaiden does is force the player to learn how to beat enemies or face the repeated lashings that enemies hand to them. In other words, if you're just mashing buttons, the game kicks your ass for it. But the recurring handing of one's ass to self by said game is what makes Ninja Gaiden such a satisfying experience: learning to win and then actually doing it is what makes the game fun. By learning the timing of enemy advances, dodging, striking, counter-striking, and which of the variety of weapons is the right tool for a specific job, Ninja Gaiden molds its player into a badass ninja, passing along a real sense of accomplishment when all is said and done.No game is without its flaws, though, and Ninja Gaiden is no exception. The camera that follows the action can get wonky and not allow you to see certain things you need to be aware of such as an oncoming enemy attack, with the camera sometimes facing in the opposite direction that you need it to. Camera issues aside, though, Ninja Gaiden is as close as it gets to being a perfect action game. From the variety of weapons, to the challenging gameplay, to the ability to roam around environments and jump and flip all over the place like a badass ninja, Ninja Gaiden truly delivers a memorable gaming experience that is worth revisiting again and again. Now, a word of warning about Ninja Gaiden II for the Xbox 360: that game can ramp up from challenging to frustrating very quickly. So unless you really are a masochist, stick with Ninja Gaiden for the Xbox as this game has just the right level of difficulty to be challenging without becoming overly frustrating. Ninja Gaiden 3, however, is a different story. If you want something easy that just lays down for you, go with Ninja Gaiden 3.

The Beginning of the Ninja Era
Ninja Gaiden for Xbox 1 is great for anyone who wishes to take the first glimpse of fighting as a ninja. Although the new releases of Ninja Gaiden for Xbox 360 and PS3 have continued to capture video games buyers, this game is best suitable for starting up and training for the new challenges in navigating new landscapes and fighting offered by the recently released games.I will base my review on graphics, sounds, controls, plot, and long-term playability. The graphics totally blew me with beautiful layouts of landscapes and gorgeous sizzlin' curves of female warriors and enemies that look too scary to be defeated. I would recommend high definition flat screen TV for this game.(10/10)The sounds are totally amazing that makes you feel like a ninja warrior sneaking around and slashing enemies into pieces. Even you are not playing, the sounds instill into your heart and soul as a ninja warrior wherever you go. There are some music that lacks enthusiasm for me. (9/10)The plot of the Ninja Gaiden is incredibly addicting that keeps you wondering of what will be happening next once you complete each chapter of the game. I could not believe that the producers of the game actually pulled this game up to the highest level, comparing to other old Xbox 1 games. I regret that I didn't buy this game when it first released. (10/10)The long-term playability is all right. It should take 50-80 hours to beat the game without a guidebook. It becomes more fun with harder level and 1 or 2 new ninja costumes after you beat the game. It will probably get boring after beating the game twice, but rather, you lay back and have a good memory of your achievement as a ninja warrior. (7/10)My tip for you before playing is to be aware of the locations of golden scrapes and all kinds of gemstones that enhance your fighting skills. That is the best game for me. I look forward to purchase more ninja games.

Gaming perfection
This is posibly the greatest game I've ever played. The only flaw I can think of is the inverted swiming which you do get used to. Everything else is perfect. It's difficult enough so you can't just breeze through it but entertaining enough so that no matter how many times you die you can still enjoy it. I can't say I didn't at all get frustrated but I never wanted to throw down the controller and give up. The best thing about this game is it's not a simple button masher. You have to learn when to block, when to dodge, and when to attack. This makes it that much more rewarding to actually get through it. Another thing I noticed was that after playing this it seemed to improve my skill in other games. This is because to get through it you must sharpen your wits and hone your reflexes. It's not enough to just know where the enemy is at. You must avoid their attacks and figure out when to attack yourself. Overall this is an amazing video gaming experience that I would recomend to anyone.

Great game, challenging, good combat, nice graphics.
I like this game, I think it's great, the graphics are amazing for it's time, no doubt, the combat is solid, different moves and upgrades make it rewarding. Spending your essence orbs the right way at stores is also a nice addition, your decisions decide how you level up so that's good. If I had to give this a down side, I'd say it's the difficulty, I've gotten to chapter 5, a bit stuck, but I'll push on. I think this is more highly recommended for those who seek a good challenge from this type of game, however this wouldn't hurt a noob to get torn up a bit and learn the ways and push on, this will take time and effort and discipline to master, which is perfect given it's ninja based world. The game's difficulty in a way, shows you the way of the ninja while you play and grow. So overall, solid game, will challenge us all and make us all better at the end of the day and I think that is what gaming is all about.
