LEDs have come of age
Absolutely perfect for my application — I'm so happy with this bulb. I'm using this over a 4'x8' work area where I do my rotary cutting for quilting. The light is very bright and very even — so much better than the old incandescent flood light I had been using there. The work area is in the basement and I often forget to turn off the light when I go back upstairs so it's nice to know my absentmindedness won't cost me as much as it used to! 😀LED lights have made tremendous strides in the last few years. For me, they're finally reaching the point where the extra cost is balanced by the savings from less electricity being used. My next project will be to replace all the under-cabinet halogen puck lights in the kitchen with LED lights. Lightkiwi has ones with wireless RF remote control that can operate all of them from a single remote. I'm probably going with that option.

I don't know about longevity, but, these lights were just what I was hoping for. Used in canned fixtures and they came on instantly (no delay) and the light was perfect for me (3000K) and these are just as advertised as per being flood lights ( very wide dispersion). Lastly, I used these in my bathroom ,which has 10 ft ceilings , because they are rated for damp locations. Although these bulbs are slightly more expensive, I think they are well worth it.

Not made to last
Overall, these light bulbs give off good light without being too bright. However, one bulb was already burned out when the electrician installed it and two more lights burned out in less than a month. Unfortunately, our electrician threw away all the boxes so I can't return them. If they continue to burn out at the rate they are, these bulbs will not be a good price anymore.

Unacceptable noise
Light from the bulbs was acceptable, but I have a low drop-ceiling and these bulbs put out a distinct buzzing noise that was impossible to ignore. My other BR40 LEDs don't make this kind of noise, so I'm returning them.
