Heat treating will not work with small parts
I am so disappointed with the Proto-pasta HTPLA filament. Forget that it is more than 3x as expensive as standard PLA. Apparently, heat treating simply does not work with small parts. The parts I printed had extremely strict tolerances regarding both dimensions and the ability to withstand summer heat / sun. Each attempt at heat treating, even at the lowest times and temperatures the manufacturer suggested, resulted in warping, even before the part hit the opaque stage. Tech support suggested that I print "negatives" of the parts, heat treat them, and then use those negatives to keep the parts themselves from warping during heat treatment. The negatives, printed at 100% infill and using many times more filament than the individual part, also warped / lost shape at the lowest temperatures before reaching the opaque stage. Time and money wasted. I cannot recommend Proto-pasta HTPLA based on my experience.

seems excellent.
First part of roll worked perfectly. But as I got further into the roll, the filament was wound poorly and it would jam, ruining the job. I will have to rewind the product to use the last quarter of the reel. I contacted the manufacturer and they apparently blew it off as they exchanged e-mails once and have not been heard from again.Their carbon fiber filament, on the other hand, seems excellent.

Really heat tolerant
This stuff is so much cheaper than nGen Flex and it is so much easier to work with. After annealing, it survives the autoclave (121C, 15psi for 30 minutes) with no visible changes in the part.

Product seems to be mislabeled
I have ordered this and was sent a roll of 2.85mm steel PLA. The plastic wrapping was labeled as iridescent ice but the spool inside was clearly labeled Steel and it was pretty obivious that it was not even the right diameter. So I sent it back. I then received another spool, this time 1.75mm HT PLA, but in Matte Fiber. Again, the packaging was labeled as Ice, but the spool inside is not. I going to return this one too, because it is too expensive to hold on to this filament that I probably won't use. However, I'm not sure that I will be ordering a replacement. I have heard that Proto-Pasta makes very good filament, but they need to nail down their labeling and shipping. To screw this up involving two different kinds of filament is really bizarre.

Great Filament. Easy to Work With.
Not much more to say than this stuff is amazing! Much stronger than PLA right out of the box, and if you anneal it (bake it at low temperatures in an oven), it's even more awesome!

Good filament!
This filament works well with my PrintRbot Metal without heated bed.
