Leak resistant if you do it the correct way. Had a huge hole in my exhaust pipe, it works, no issues at all. This item just bought me sometime till I get around to replace the pipe. Make sure you remove any rust before doing it. Clamps are super strong, great value for the money you won't go wrong with it
