The Best of Hanson: Live and Electric

This cd is an excellent range of songs and can really show anyone what Hanson is capable of. Many songs off their first album are included, even Mmmbop, and having a recording of these songs from 2005 shows how the band has grown and matured, while also proving what excellent song writers they were as children. Almost all of the songs hold up as wonderful pop gems alongside the band's stellar new material.The inclusion of one of the band's best songs, Every Word I Say, as well as the fun, energetic new concert standard, Rock N Roll Razorblade, are especially worthwhile for the more casual fans who may never have heard these tunes. The Radiohead cover, Optimistic, is terrific and lets the band really flex their rock sensibilities. But for my money, the song that would sell the album on its own is the amazing cover of U2's In A Little While. This is when you understand how truly talents these young men are. Only the most talented musicians could do a U2 cover that would hold its own against the original song.The main reason this cd doesn't get more than three stars is the recording quality. Sometimes an echo from the speakers is noticeable, and I have never felt that the screams of the crowd add anything to my listening enjoyment of a live cd. Neither of these distractions was seriously enough to detract from my overall pleasure of the cd though. This is an excellent recording for fans old and new, and a great introduction for though who think of Hanson as nothing more than "Mmmbop".

I have been a Hanson fan for over 8 years now. I have argued with countless people over the validity of Hanson's talent, but now that they've released this incredible live album, I don't have to argue anymore. All I have to say is, "Just listen," press play, and the music speaks for itself. This is barnone the best live album I have ever heard. My husband loves the opening song, a rocking cover of Radiohead's "Optimistic," and while I love every song on the album, I'm quite partial mostly to the more rock songs, though their cover of U2's "In a Little While" is one highlight I never tire of. The vocals alone reel you in hook, line, and sinker, and the instrumentals are dead on. This is a very enjoyable record that you will want to listen to over and over, just brace yourself for the screaming crowd!

This highlights the band's ability to put on a live show. I won over many a doubter friend with their covers of Optimistic and In A Little While. Overall, worth a listen if you're a big fan. Otherwise, see if you can find it on Apple Music or Spotify.

An unfortunate trend in the last few years is so called music/pop/rock groups putting out studio albums that sell but they then cannot perform live without their studio props...if they can perform live at all. Hanson does not fall in that catagory. This live album absolutely shines from beginning to end and demonstrates that they are accomplished musicians. I highly recommend it.

to make it short and add a little bit to the other reviews, this cd is amazing, so powerful and passionate... I definitely recommend it to anyone who's looking for a band filled with talent and passion. It's a good oportunity to find out what Hanson sounds like nowadays, and hear new versions of their older stuff (like the extended where's the love and hand in hand, the funky look at you, etc), as well as a brilliant performance of their recent work.by the way, you can hear clips of all the songs at Hanson's webpage [[...] just go to the 'Media' section (the headphones icon) and click in the album cover. Very awesome

A collection of their best songs, repackaged, nothing new.

Hanson live is definitely electric. I saw them live in '98 on the Albertane Tour and it was fantastic. And they only seem to get better with age. These guys have come a long, long way from who they were in '97 and their sound has matured along with them. I loved their music then and I love it just as much (if not more) now. These guys don't disappoint.

This cd is of perfect condition with no scratches made to the disk and every song played smoothly. Hanson is one of my all time favourite bands and loved this when I received it, having it on repeat made my day.
