Waterless Trap Seal, 2 Inch

I live in an old property in France and the shower drain unit was never fitted with a " P " trap so the smell from the wastewas foul. I came across this product on Amazon.fr , from the States, reading the reviews it seemed that this might well be the answer to my problem. It arrived and looked well made, fitting was very simple. I have to say I am extremely pleased with the result since fitting it. IF you are experiencing this issue then I strongly suggest this is most likely to be the answer for you as well. This worked perfectly for me! It's sealed in any smells that would emanate from the drainpipes, and the water drains thru it with ease. I was concerned by some of the other reviews but rolled the dice with the product. I can whole heartedly say I'm glad I did!

This does not help reduce odors in any way. I have a walk-in shower and the drain can give a bad sewage gas smell at times. I got this product after cleaning the drain and doing everything I could to help reduce the smell. This item has honestly helped 0%. Even if it would have reduced the smell a small percentage I would accept the results. But 0%? That's just a waste of $35 that I wish I could have back.

4 stars for material and fit, it will get 5 if it lasts 10 years...The drain trap is in a 4" cast iron pipe.I run my furnace drain and a dehumidifier drain to it. A little water collects on the top maybe 1/4 to 1/2 an inch, it seems to drain well.How it will work when and if there is a back flow I'm not sure.It fits tight and seems to be made out of material that wont rust.Right now, I would buy it again if it lasts 5 to 10 years...

We learned about this product from Youtube, it works perfectly and now the smell is gone! Make sure you measure the pipe diameter before ordering.

Works immediately—just put it in the sink, and it eliminates odors right away. However, be aware that it may slightly slow the drain, though it's a minor trade-off compared to getting rid of the smel

Got this for my shower. I don't know where the **** ***** *******'in roaches are getting in, but plenty of websites said that they can come in through the plumbing and especially in the shower, so I got one of these to put in the shower drain. It's basically a solid plug, with soft rubber flaps on the bottom that will get pushed down by the weight of water above them, allowing the water to pass through, and then they'll tighten back up when the water's gone.It works. Those little **** ***** ***** ****s can crawl through that pipe but they won't be able to get in, and they won't even try because they won't see a big gaping hole shining bright light into their subterranean pipe hellhole that they live in.BUT: you gotta adjust it so that it doesn't leave you standing in a couple of inches of water! This device slows down your drain, and if you don't do it just right, you'll finish your shower ankle-deep in water that will slowly, slowly drain out. It will eventually clear, but it'll take a few minutes.The trick is, you gotta concentrate the weight of the water so the flaps open quickly and fully. The way you do that is by shoving this thing as far down the drain as you can get it. If you can get it about six inches deep, then you'll have six inches of water weight pressing down on the flaps and they'll open fully and then it drains like a normal shower, while also blocking roach highway. I've got this thing shoved down the drain as far as my fingers can get it. But then you've got the problem of when it eventually gets clogged with hair; you have to have a way to get it back out, which for me involves a long-arse set of needlenose pliers.So it works, but it's a bit of a hassle, so that's why the 3-star review.
