These are amazing secondary dressings.
These have been a life saver for my husband. We have both been dealing with him having venous ulcers. We finally have finished the healing process with the help of collagen wound dressings a polyurethane pad with these amazing silicone wraps as the dressing that holds the alginate and foam pad in place! They work wonderfully to hold foam wound pads in place. With a retention netting over the silicone wrap they are perfect dressings for lower leg wound dressings that stay in place and work to promote healing. Using the wet method promotes cell epithelialization to the wound bed. Using an alginate or a product like poly mem or enluxtra these saline wraps are the perfect wrap to hold it all in place. My husband said before we started the silicone wraps that he was embarrassed in public with his dressings. I found these online and they not only worked better, but also looked like a type of sock or ace bandage. He no longer found his dressings embarrassing, and has pretty much completely healed. I would highly recommend these to people going through something similar. They can also be used for other wraps as well and stay in place and remove easily.

Thin but super absorbent (20x8-inch size)
BEWARE: buying from this Amazon page gives you a choice of several different sizes. They are NOT ALL THE SAME MATERIAL, even though they are from the same manufacturer. I've used three variations of this product already: 20x8 self-adhering silicone pad, 6x8 self-adhering silicone pad, and another one (forgot what size) that is NOT SELF-ADHERING.The smaller sizes are a pretty thick absorbent pad, with self-adhesive silicone on one side and a tan-colored rubberized silicone layer on the other side. VERY absorbent, VERY good sticking power, great for high-drainage wounds and such. The adhesive DOES NOT stick to the wound!! It only sticks to healthy skin. No idea how they managed to do that, but it works great - as long as the bandage is larger than the wound so that it has enough healthy skin under it to stick properly. The bigger size is similar but different in some ways. The pad is a bit thinner, the color of the outer layer is white instead of tan, and it is HUGE in size. Otherwise it's basically the same as the smaller self-adhering silicone pads. Because it is thinner, it is more comfortable to wear BUT for heavily draining wounds you need to change it more frequently because it fills up with the wet stuff faster. Because it is so big, it might shift position as you move your body, but it still sticks to you pretty well - as long as there is enough healthy skin for it to grab onto. Then there is another version similar to the smaller sizes - looks identical, liquid absorption is identical, same size basically... except it is NOT SELF-ADHERING it is just a dry absorbent pad. If you order that one, you'll need tape or some kind of wrap to keep it in place. They're all GREAT products for wound care, just be sure to read the description and product details for the one you have selected on the item's Amazon page before you add it to your shopping cart.

Easy to use and the adhesive makes it stay in place to wrap gauze around it.
My mother has a wound on her foot and it worked very well.

Great value
Great value. Comes in large sheets and you can cut to size. Use it for skin tears for my elderly father it only sticks to health skin not the wound.

Soft, comfortable
This is 2nd or 3rd time ordering this. So, I knew I would be happy. As I am.I actually use this dressing backwards. I place the white soft material against my skin. I peel the sticky side protective sheeting off before wrapping it around my leg, I then use the sticky stuff, which is facing out the way I use it, the sticky grabs a hold of any gauze dressing or any first contact dressings' edges. This makes it easier to keep everything lined up and in place while I roll out the outermost dressing, the rolled gauze. But more than that bonus, placing the white, soft material against my leg feels soothing. It's just a tiny bit absorbent which is all for the non-wound, rest of my leg area. It keeps ne "dry" of any sweat. Also lends some cushion and needed softness to the very traumatized, self inflicted messes from excessive scratching. I get really itchy, all around my leg, around my wound. I have no self control to not itch. These dressings, worn backwards, are perfect (when needed).
