Update-Almost 9 years later ——8/15/2023
After almost 9 years of daily use by the family our trusty steamer is almost on its last legs. It’s been so good that I am finally buying an exact replacement or maybe upgrade to the larger one. Regardless, this brand makes a genuinely quality product.Disappointed with this steamer. The post does not stay on which makes it useless in hanging your clothes to steam. I dont understand why this feature was not tested properly. The device itself works ok when steaming ligthly wrinkled clothing, but on heavier clothing such as cotton or linen shirts it takes a long time for it to take out the wrinkles.10-17-2014Pur Steam's customer service called me today and apologized for the problems encountered on the steamer's defective post. They are shipping a new one out to me today and it will be here this coming Monday. Mr. Ash, service customer rep/owner, also indicated that he will personally walked me through the installation of the replacement steamer to ensure that the post is working properly. The fact that the company cared enough about ensuring that their customers are satisfied with the product will make me change my review from one star to three stars. I will update this review once I get the replacement up and running and testing it on a whole basket of clothes waiting to be steamed.10-23-2014Pur Steam's customer service came thru as promised. Mr. Ash walked me thru and sent a visual addendum on how to install the steamer's pole. He promised that the addendum to the installation manual will be included in all of the product. It made a world of difference. I now am able to steam all of the clothes with ease and I am revising my previous statement on its perfomance with heavily wrinkled cotton and linen clothes. Having the ability to hang the clothes made it easier to direct the steam where it was needed. With the pole installed properly, I was able to work thru a basket of wrinkled clothes in less than 30 minutes. Much faster than ironing. I've changed my review from one star to five stars

Pole collapses making it unusable and dangerous.
I bought this products in August of 2021 and it has been good to me. But unfortunately it is now done with. The pole itself collapses when it use which not only makes it impossible to use but dangerous. I also have never like the fast that it’s a non rotating steamer. So that’s what I’ll be looking for in future purchase.

Other reviewers must've done something wrong! -First couple uses review (will update)
So I read PLENTY of reviews of this steamer before purchasing it and I don't know WHAT some of the other reviewers were talking about. I got this yesterday and set it up tonight and it is exactly what I needed, exactly what it said it is, and exactly right at this price point! To address some seemingly common complaints:1. It leaks: It hasn't leaked from anywhere (yet) and, in order to reduce the risk of it leaking, I will admit Iused some teflon tape around the threads for the steam hose. But so far so good!2. It doesn't actually steam: If you keep the wand down low, I think the bend in the hose accumulates water andcan inhibit steam production, but when I kept the wand up, I had zero problems. For low spots, I saved thoseuntil last and did them quickly to avoid issues.3. The hose/stand/hanger are too small: This thing, when fully extended, is about 5' 6" tall, the hanger is justabout an inch shy of being the same size as a normal adult hanger, and when resting in the holder at the topof the pole has slack in the hose. I have no idea what people are talking about.4. It is poorly made cheap plastic garbage: With the tank full and the pole fully extended this thing seems solidas a rock. Is it plastic? Of course it is! But it's not leaking, not making absurd noises, and not taking up a hugeamount of space in my room. Is it a bit small? Yes! But I don't want a filing cabinet sized steamer taking upten square feet in my room! The only thing I noticed that I didn't see in any reviews was that when using it is that there was a sort of plasticy smell. Nothing too strong and I couldn't smell it in my clothes when I finished steaming them. Also there was a small, white, conical rubber piece floating around under the tank when I opened it but it seems to be the seal for the hole that the water actually goes to on the steamer. that's where I put it and I've had no issues. All in all, AT THIS PRICE POINT, this is an amazing steamer. I don't understand any of the hate that this thing is getting.Again this is the first day review for this so, if it should stop working next week, of course I'll change my rating but for now, I say purchase this thing without hesitation!

Big, clunky, and barely usable
I bought this February 2023 to replace an old steamer. Decided to try this one since it came with a steam rack. I'm finally writing a review because it still annoys me that I'm stuck with this thing. It barely spits out enough steam to iron out a shirt, so it takes me nearly an hour. It's also a pain to pour out the water from the spout on the side when lifting up to the sink if the rod is still screwed in. Unscrewing the rod is not easy, especially if you have arthritis.
