Samjin Amook Tteokbokki Fish Cake & Rice Cakes (Original / 2 Packs / 9.8oz) - High Protein Spicy Korean Food

If you are like me, you probably enjoy eating Tteokbokki as a midnight snack. I was pleasantly surprised with this product, given that it is instant food. The taste of the fish cake is strong so you won't miss it. The spice is medium so you won't have to worry about it if you are not good with spice. The surprising point was it did not have that "instant taste" where you can still taste the plastic. Overall, it was surprisingly good and satisfies those midnight hungers.

Very tasty product, though cooking time should be adjusted from what is written on package if microwaving in the US as the wattage of US microwaves are diffrent then area this product was created for and this meal will over cook if you follow the directions directly.

This was my first time trying it and so far it was pretty good. Instructions are simple to follow, there was plenty of sauce and rice cakes. I will say since its my first time having it, the fish cakes are a little weird tasting but again it's my first time eating this. Sauce is flavorful and spicy. Will I buy it again...yes!

The components all together are tasty, especially the fish cakes, but there are not enough rice cakes for my tastes. The spice powder also does not dissolve in water great, leaving it with this kind of watery, gritty texture that does not cling well to the solid ingredients.

This only had 8 pieces of rice cake, tasted like water more than anything, and just really isn’t worth it. Go to your nearest Asian market and get something better and cheaper. I got 2 things for $ 3.25 each and they tasted amazing.

I tried it as my snack and it really easy to make it. Rice cake and fish cake perfectly vacuum packed which was easy to peel. Put the water up to the lice inside of the box and microwave it for 3 minutes.I personally cook Tteokbokki with many more ingredients but it takes a half an hour. This awesome product gets Ready in 3 minutes!Rice cake was very chewy and spicy level was exactly what I like.Going to buy more of this to have it ready as my snacks!

Reminds me of the street tteokbbokki I used to get after school! It tastes very delicious, but the portion is very small for the price. I would buy again and just put my own tteok in it! The amook takes delicious as well. Usually in these instant tteokbbokki the amook will come in a flat square piece, but this one was shaped differently so the texture was chewier and better. A side note, the vacuum seal is done VERY well so i struggled opening the package. Scissors help!

Even the image on the pack isn't truly accurate. Some of the images are simply of some other food items and nothing to do with this product. Of course, you can add stuff to this or with this, but the images seem to want you to feel you are getting a lot more. If you look at the customer images you'll see it's simply a pack of spice, a fish cake and 8 smallish rice cakes. That's it. The amount received barely fills the container and when water is added it only fills 1/2 the cup. The rice cakes were tiny and total of 8 as I recall. This is certainly a snack not a meal. The sauce was tasty with some spice, but as another said, tomato-y and akin to spaghettios or something like that. The sodium content is astronomical which is probably the case for most instant things like this. It was good enough to try it out, but I'd go for something higher quality next time and more quantity. This was so overpriced for the amount received.
