It works!
Saw this used at a high end resort’s cafe counter where they had the baked goods. I asked if it works and she said yes but only use the battery option and she got it on Amazon. I tried it a couple times now and sure enough IT WORKS!

These windmills do no work
Maybe it’s just a northern philadelphia thing, but the flies up here are not falling for that silly moving sparkly paper on windmills trick. They didn’t even give it the time of day just went all around it and attacked the food anyway.

It did not deter a single fly from my patio meal.
I bought 3 because I was having an out side dinner party.I was disappointed and embarrassed because they did not deter a single fly. But were very noisy and hit several guests hands.Do no buy!!!!

Not ideal for rechargeable battery users - major design flaw
Impractical design. Also not real wood. 100% plastic.First, I wanted to use these for our outdoor Formal dinners for 6 to 8 people, which would require 3 or 4 of these. The design flaw is in its power source. The standard way for them to work is to stay plugged in via USB, but who has that many battery bricks, and who wants to display them on the table? That said, the only practical way to use these is with AA batteries. Because of how frequently we're intending on using them, it makes sense to use rechargeable batteries. However, the battery compartment is way too small and tight so that when inserting the second battery, you need to literally push it in, and now I can't take it out (see picture). Imagine that, an item that requires aa batteries but can't fit RECHARGEABLE AA batteries (I used EBL rechargeables, and btw, regular aa batteries fit fine).

Great to have
We have a country house and sometimes have country flies that come in uninvited for lunch. These little fans look nice on our wood table and really keep the flies away from maybe a 20” radios of the unit.Batteries seem to last for maybe 6 hours before they become week and need to be replaced. Lower power means the blades flop down more while on, hitting your drink and plates.

WORKS AS ADVERTISED
Seems to work as advertised. As for the "battery life" sorry I can't answer that question as I just started to use them.It might take two people to get the battery cover secured - especially if you're a senior with artritis.
