Love these...
I love how these are non-toxic d/t glass, and can go literally from frig or freezer to (microwave for me) oven because they are Pyrex. These are the main containers I use for food storage, and this 2 cup size holds a generous serving of food (soup, stew, pasta) for one person, conveniently. The glass containers themselves are quite durable. They've been dropped before and haven't broken.I gave four stars instead of five because the lids break down/tear over time and aren't durable at all (they are a 2 of 5, glass is 5 of 5).I think this price is too expensive for one item, but I'm not able to get them in stores right now and I only need one so I made that decision.

Lids RED, not blue as shown
The pictures all showed the standard BLUE lids, which matches all the other pyrex products I use, but these came with RED lids and I resent the deception of the pictures.

Had to Replace My Favorite Dish
As you can see in the photos, the original faded for some reason. This is my favorite small dish and I use it every day, several times per day. I couldn't figure out how to restore the original version so I got another one. I love them so much, I find myself still using the older one because I can't stand to part with it. If anyone knows how to restore them or what caused the damage, I am all ears.

Soda lime glass with a so so plastic lid.
It's just a glass bowl with a snap on plastic lid, so it's not too exciting. We have a dozen of these in different sizes. The glass holds up very well as expected. I like that they can go straight from the freezer to the microwave, obviously you take the lid off first. The lids seal well when applied at room temperature. I have found that when removing it from the freezer you need to run warm water over the lid before attempting to remove it. Just along the edge where it covers the glass. This makes the lid more pliable and easier to remove. This is more apparent with the 2 cup and smaller sizes. The bigger sizes not so much. On a couple of the 2 cup bowls the lid has cracked on the edge where it covers the side of the bowl. Every time this happened it was when the lid was cold. Hence the recommendation for the warm water. Unfortunately once it cracks, the lid no longer makes an air tight seal. Other than that it's a fairly decent product.

Most-reached-for storage option in the cabinet
Originally we had only 4 of these, which came with a larger set of Pyrex. For years I would use them, put them in the dishwasher and move on to the plastic storage containers. I hand-washed all the lids to make them last longer. Then came the baby and things changed. Now I don't have time to pamper my plastic lids, so into the dishwasher they go and they come out perfectly fine. Now I'm also more concerned with wasting less and reusing more and eliminating plastics where I can. I realized I'd had the original 4 of these for 5+ years and they still looked brand-new (particularly as opposed to the plastic containers, which show their age pretty quickly). So we've been adding to the Pyrex collection and have about 10 now. They are constantly in the rotation and get used for pretty much everything. Typically I don't put them in the oven, but that's mainly because I don't cook anything this size in the oven. Fridge, freezer, dishwasher, they do great. Amazon has them for about a dollar less than the big-box stores in my area too!

Two-Cup Capacity? Not Quite
I bought twelve of these for freezing homemade raw catfood. Two cups per container is a good amount, and technically, they do hold that much, but only if you can get away with filling it to the absolute brim! The FUNCTIONAL capacity of these is more like 1.5 cups, when leaving enough room for to allow for expansion of the food in the freezer and/or to help diminish potential spillage. Deducting one star for that reason. I ended up needing to buy the four-cup size in hope that I'll get a useable three cups out of each.Otherwise, I like these very much! They're pleasantly smooth to the touch and a pleasure to clean. Plus, I feel a lot better putting my cat food in glass than in the polyurethane I've used in the past.

Wonderful "Made in the USA" PYREX and on SALE at Geroys!
You gotta SHOP and keep SHOPPING to find great deals! Geroys now has this 2 cup Pyrex Bowl listed on Amazon for about FIFTEEN dollars EACH, PLUS SHIPPING! BUT RIGHT NOW the bowls are ON SALE for under FIVE dollars EACH delivered! (The four seventy five price per bowl is for eight bowls and includes the shipping cost!!) So I just bought 8 PYREX 2 cup, covered bowls for thirty eight dollars! We serve up our cereal for speed eating in the morning and put the filled bowls in the cupboard for anyone to grab, so we can really use a lot of these bowls, and I am so happy to get a good price. THESE DAYS a bargain is a rare thing, don't you think?By the way, with "free shipping" Amazon wants TEN BUCKS for EACH of these bowls right now - even IF they offered "buy 4 get one free" like they sometimes do, that is NO BARGAIN. So, shop, shop, shop!
