TilleyT4MO-1 Unisex Hiker's Hat

The media could not be loaded.  I got this T4MO-1 with the venting mesh because I hike, camp and do a lot outdoors stuff in the heat. A friend who is a ship captain recommended this hat to me and showed me how his has a cooling pad inside the top. I also have a classic Tilley T-3 that blocks the sun well and is great at keeping my head dry in the rain, but my head starts to cook in the T-3 in the hottest weather.The T-3 was made in Canada, the T4MO-1 is made in China, but the quality of construction for both hats is the same.The 98% cotton/2% spandex has a nice brushed fabric feel too it, like it does not have that synthetic tech-fabric feel to it. It feels soft, yet strong.The hat came with the Tilley guarantee tag and I was able to register my hat on the Tilley website.The biggest thing I was wondering about before I ordered was if the hat came with a “Hyperkewl Plus” cooling pad - Yes, my hat came with the cooling pad (see my photo). When you soak the pad in water and drain the excess, the pad is cold to the touch. Between the cooling pad and the mesh, my head didn’t get so hot in the blazing July sun.The Tilley style strings can take getting used to, but you can fiddle around with them to find a way that you like - they are different from hats with a quickly adjustable draw string that can be tightened up when wind kicks up.

The Tilley Hiker's Hat did not disappoint! It is stylish, fits very well and is very well made. I have not had a chance to use the cooling system in it yet so I cannot comment on that. This is the third "Tilley Hat" that I have purchased, I truly like everything about them and highly recommend them to anyone looking for a quality brimmed hat.

This is my second Tilley T4MO-1 hat... I love the somewhat larger brim and the feel of the natural cotton used in this model. Excellent protection from the sun and excellent cooling on hot days. The construction of this Tilley is excellent and I expect decades of wear.Customer service from Bruce at Holland Hats was exceptional. I had a misunderstanding that Bruce clarified for me. His was a very personal touch with evident concern that I be completely satisfied as a customer.The next time I need to buy a hat I'll be returning to Holland Hats. I've tried cheaper broad-brimmed hiking hats. I wouldn't wear anything other than this Tiley T4MO-1 for pure comfort and protection from the sun. It looks pretty good too.

High quality materials and workmanship, looks good and comfortable fit.

Love the hat. I have had the same one close to 30 years. It was just getting worn out. Returned only because they sent smaller size than ordered. I have already re-ordered. Hope they send ordered size this time.

I've owned Tilley hats for years and this is another first class hat. We still get the secret pocket, but no bragging labels, apparently we can't have them because it's a planet saving measure. Instead inserted in the secret pocket is a floatation pad so it's not all bad. This hat replaces one that I lost, but the good thing is that this hat is even more comfortable than the one I lost. I love these hats they are so easy to care for, foldable and washable too.
