Product works as advertised
I'm using this product essentially as a primer for my pool deck which I plan to next treat with KILZ Over Armour. It was very easy to work with, spread easily and gave a very nice finish. I measured the paintable surface at about 270 sq. feet which put it right in the middle of the range given on the can (200 - 400). I used the entire can with less than an ounce leftover. The deck was fairly weathered with some areas of darkening and some splintering. I first scrubbed with a wire brush using a bleach solution, rinsed clean then lightly sanded the most splintered areas. This removed most but not all of the dark areas. The paint covered everything nicely and resulted in one evenly colored coat. I highly recommend the product especially at the price offered. Only wish there were more color options but since I'll be covering it anyway it's no big deal. The reason I only gave it 3 stars for durability was obviously because I just put it on so I have no idea.

This is the stuff!
Great color and looks beautiful on our decking and stairs and knowing the wood is protected from the elements is nice. Hubby used a sprayer on it and worked easily and beautifully. Great product! We ordered two more! Shipping was great too so the can wasn’t dented.

Good paint, good price
Painted garage ceiling and walls. Went on easy. Fairly easy cleanup. One coat did it, same color. Has resisted mildew, moisture, pretty low and high temperatures. Definitely worth the money. I added sand mix to cover up tiny cracks

Holding up so far
We have a very large older deck that needed a facelift. We have used various stains and paints and every time it looks good until it rains, snows or the sun beats on it, then it is peeling, chipping, sticking to your bare feet, pretty much a mess. We used the Kilz paint in July 2024 - this picture is from Oct. 1, 2024- and so far we are very impressed. It hasn't peeled away or chipped and it isn't wearing out where we walk daily. I know it's only a few months, but so far it has been better than all the others. We prepped our deck by power washing it and letting it really dry out, then we put on one really heavy solid coat. We used 8 gallons to cover our deck. It covered really nicely. The paint was thick and went on easily. It dried super fast in the July sun. I'll try to remember to update this after some slush or snow this winter. I am hopeful I will only need to do minor touch ups. That would be amazing if it holds up through 4 seasons and only needs basic maintenance.

Awesome paint
Awesome product and very user friendly. As always, good surface prep is a must for proper adhesion. The color match is more closer to finished/aged concrete. A single coat with anti-skid additive brought the patio back to life. So far no issues with the curing process however trapped moisture in the concrete will cause issues if not given time to dry after pressure washing.

Phenomenal paint!
Pros: this is a typical, modern, high-tech paint which ticks off all the check boxes:- Does not drip or run from the brush during application- Lays on silky smooth- Easy to go back over spots to cover up brush strokes while wet, and the new paint blends in well without streaking- Hides dark paint exceptionally well- Is self leveling and shrinks slightly when dry, which helps to hide brush strokes- Dries to the touch quickly, well within an hour- Lays on a nice, satin sheen which is not slippery when wet, so a good choice for outside stairs- Brushes clean up like new with soap and waterCon:- The silver gray is more like off white! When I opened the can I thought the paint wasn't mixed well but mixing did not change the color. If you have white railings you are best off with the darker grey color to provide some contrast. Only reason I kept the silver gray was rain was due in two days and I had to paint an outside repair with bare lumber, but at least the color is cool when the sun beats down.I used this Kilz paint to cover dark, rust red stairs and it hid the color with one coat! I did put on one rather heavy coat. When you first apply the paint it seems to cover extraordinarily well, then it gets a bit transparent as it dries, but when fully dried the old paint was effectively hidden with a solid, matte finish. To cover nail head holes and cracks just apply a bit more paint to the edge of the brush, then go back and dab those areas while the paint is setting. The paint does shrink when dry so you may have to dab up those areas again, but it's good that the paint shrinks in place to seal well and does not lay on too thick. This is my first experience with Kilz paint. Problem with buying paint at Home Depot or Lowes is the bewildering variety but you have to dig through the web to find reviews. By buying on Amazon it's easy to find paint with a high number of good reviews, and the free freight doesn't hurt either.
