Some Animals are Seen and Make Weird Sounds
Hoot by Alison Lester is published and formatted properly so it takes up the the middle part of screen in landscape mode, so is like reading an actual physical open book where you see both the left and right pages at once. The text and illustrations therefore appear on the pages together like they should, unlike a lot of Kindle picture book authors which just display like a mess. However it would have better if it took up the entire screen so you can enjoy the illustrations and text to their full extent. It's almost like the publishers have scanned an open boardbook over an A4 screen and haven't cropped the final result. It's still big enough to read and see, but taking up the entire screen would have been better.Basically the narrator sees a bunch of different animals such as a possum and a fox and asks them what do you say. The answer isn't what you assume, the normal noises the actual creatures make. Instead for example the possum coughs, and the fox barks. Very basic book, would have worked better if the animals made the actual sounds the real ones do so the kids could mimic them or you could ask what the sound will be before revealing it.
