Working principle of microwave radar The radar-type microwave detector is a kind of detector that combines the sending and receiving of microwave. Its working principle is based on the Doppler effect. The microwave with very short wave length (1mm-1000mm) can be easily reflected by object. The Doppler effect arises when microwave signal meets the moving object and is reflected. Therefore, attention should be paid to the following notes during installation: 1.The probe of microwave detector should not be pointed at any object that may move. 2.The microwave detector should not be installed against the indoor space. 3.The object with large size and great thickness, especially metals, should not be placed in the detection zone. 4.The microwave detector should not be pointed at gas-discharge source like fluorescent lamp and mercury-vapor lamp. 5.If more than two microwave detectors need to be installed in the same position, cross interference may be easily generated and lead to wrong sensing result.
