- This design is inspired by the abstract black and white design of the "Rites of Spring" outfit, also called Spring Rain, designed by Kansai Yamamoto, one of the most iconic of Ziggy Stardust's costumes from the early 1970s.
- The outfit featured a tear-away red side panel and David Bowie wore it with red platform shoes.
