Alvvays and Forever
What a surprisngly solid and confident debut album from a very promising young band straight out of Canada. Alvvays (pronounced al·ways) is a wonderful mix of Camera Obscura's melancholy and Best Coast's sun-soaked atmosphere. Though the listener can easily identify the band's influences, Alvvays manages to sound fresh. There's plenty of sweet jams to enjoy. There's not a single dud here - play this one straight through, and then hit repeat!Though I truly love all of these tunes, "Party Police" takes the cake for me. This is easily one of this year's best songs, albeit hidden under the radar. It's such a wonderfully realized lovelorn ballad with plenty of hooks and reverb. I can certainly recommend Alvvays and hope you give them a chance if this review has piqued your interest. They may be your favorite new band, as they are mine. I'm excited to see and hear what this band can do next.

Fantastic album. So-so vinyl. Lossless download
Everything said about this album is true. It’s great plain and simple. But I have a love/hate relationship with the vinyl incarnation. It is a 180 gram pressing and nicely blue, but I just can’t report that it sounds significantly better on vinyl. Yet, the included download card allows you to get a copy in WAV so essentially it’s the album on CD which is very nice for creating ALAC files. Both versions sound very good, but I was just expecting a little more from buying it on vinyl. Still absolutely recommended.

Great Debut Album
I got this one by searching around on YouTube and trying out new bands. I have to say this was a pleasant surprise. The songs are well done and there is an undercurrent of subversiveness in the lyrics. The Ones Who Love You is an amazing song and my favorite of last year. So add me to the ones who loved it (and my teenage daughter too who I introduced to it).

Molly Rankin's voice is unearthly. Buy it for the vocals alone. If angels existed, this is what their voices would sound like.Along with Mairéad Ní Mhaonaigh [lead singer of the Celtic band 'Altan'] and Alison Krauss.

Buy this!
Comes as t his awesome marbled blue heavy weight vinyl. Great album start to finish, I personally can't find a song that I want to skip. Even the album closer "Red Planet" is catchy and awesome in its own way.

One of my new favorite bands! A really great album overall
One of my new favorite bands! A really great album overall, and I love every song. (This is rare). This has a great Summer vibe to it, as well as a touch of 90s in my opinion. Definitely great chill music!

Indie poptastic album
This Canadian band tread a worn path when it comes to music in that they are firmly in the field of indie pop. The thing is a lot of bands are in that field but are a bit rubbish - this is not the case here. On first hearing it makes you long for summer evenings and never ending festival nights.Almost lo-fi in places the tunes, melodies and riffs are all there just when you want them. There is not really a bad track here but all of the former singles are instant favourites, `Adult Diversion', Next of Kin' and the pure pop magic that is `Marry me, Archie'.This is one of those albums that you can listen to back to back and when you stray into another choice on your MP3 you immediately want to hear one of these again. Just pure pop brilliance - absolutely recommended.

Alvvways leaves you wanting more
Jangly guitars, bubbly driving bass, swirly synths, more hooks and catches than a tackle shop. Love it.

Great album.
Great album. Super catchy melodic tunes. Imagine mix of Camera Obscura and The Pains of Being Pure At Heart. Something like that!Archie, Marry Me and Next of Kin are hard to get out of your head.

Outstanding debut
Best LP of 2014. Can't say more than that. Okay, if I must, a bright and breezy collection of surfy, poppy utterly brilliant songs. Molly Rankin is a genius.

Great wall of sound intelligent pop record
Bought on basis of their upcoming appearance at End of the Road. This is just a great pop record with wall if sound production, attractive vocals and complex lyrics. Camera Obscura and Glasgow sound are comparisons, but I wouldn't pigeonhole them. Love this record.
