Bought as a present - very well received
I purchased this book as a gift for my sister (who finally acquired her own sea kayak earlier in the year). I took a risk and purchased on the back of others reviews, but it turned out to be a good decision and she is very happy with it (I know she wasn't just saying that to make me feel good... she spent most of Christmas day reading it!!!). Whilst my sister has many years kayaking/canoeing experience, she is relatively new to the South West area, so in her words it was the ideal gift.At the time of writing, there is no preview of the book on Amazon (but you can find a lengthy preview on Google books)... well worth a look if you get a chance. The author also has a really nice blog/website which readers may also find useful. It is the title of the book dot co dot uk... or just Google 'South West Sea Kayaking' and you should find it.

It is an excellent guide !
This guide is really fantastic. I have had it for 3 years and it has always been very helpful to plan trips. I have just spent a week paddling in Cornwall and again I feel very grateful, again it has proved very accurate on all aspects, from navigation tips to where to launch from etc...What I particularly like about this book is that it gives a lot of information about history, that makes the trips even more interesting. The historical perspective is also interesting when the whether is not good for kayaking, last week for example on a very windy day i visited the telegraph museum in Porthcurnow, thanks to this wonderful guide. I want to say a big thank-you to the author.Olivier

Perfect book for any water sports enthusiasts
What a great book, it covers all the places I want to visit. its printed on quality glossy paper and reads well. I wanted it for my Surf ski adventures but it will work for most shore hugging watercraft adventurers. Thanks

Great book
Detailed trip plans and reviews, the authors enthusiasm is infectious and you find yourself trying to work out the tides for different areas and if you can get the time off work ...Great book

Stuff it in a dry bag and get on with it!
I am going to paddle from Penzance to Portsmouth in September, so this was quite a logical book to purchase. It's brilliant! Exactly what I was looking for, with detailed information about tides, places to land, hazards, history, great photos. What more could you want?I will be stuffing my copy into a dry bag for sure.

Perfect gift for a keen sea-kayaker
This was recommended by Cornish Rock Tors and I bought it as a gift for my sea-kayaking son. He is thrilled with it so it's already a winner! He likes the level of detail enabling him to plan his routes for maximum enjoyability and safety.

Excellent guide
Excellent guide for planning where to kayak on Southwest England's incredible coastline. Even if you're not a kayaker it's a good way to see and learn about the coastline.
