Sturdy comfortable junior hacksaw
This junior hacksaw represents very good value for money, it's relatively sturdy, well designed and comfortable to use but I would take the description 'heavy duty' with a pinch of salt: it's a Junior hacksaw so designed for relatively light work, not for constructing the Forth Bridge. For that you'd need a full sized one.The blade supplied is clearly mostly for cosmetic purposes, so buy a four quid pack of Bahco or Eclipse of 10 blades and bin the supplied blade immediately on receipt...... it's the frame you're paying for.The frame is well designed, easy to change blades without cutting your fingers off and the rubber-sheathed handle very comfortable . It looks nice too.The reviewers who denigrate the saw because it won't cut through a hardened steel bolt make me laugh! It won't cut through annealed carbon steel submarine stanchions either! For that you use an appropriate tool...... it's not an oxy acetylene cutter for god's sake.Recommended for light use on plastics, wood, composites and lightweight sheet metal and so on. For heavy jobs buy a good full sized hacksaw, but this is a sturdy useful addition to most toolboxes.

Flimsy
These come in a pack of two by I thinkMy ancient one that these replaced was much better. The blade twisted on first use and the fixing is quite hit and miss

Buy quality blades too!
It would be unfair, i think to say this is a poor product. The sam handle is nice and comfy to use and i'm sure it will last an age.The problem here though is that the blade supplied is 'made of chocolate'.I bought this as I fancied a new hacksaw and had a job to do. I needed this to cut a length of threaded bar to size. Well, no chance! Got started and within about a dozen strokes all the saw teeth were gone and everything was red hot.I'm confident that this will cut plastic pipe ect. all day but certainly not metal. Additional quality blades will have to purchased at the same time if this is the task. But as i say the HANDLE is great, shame about the blade.

Well made & comfortable
It is cheap to buy but much sturdier than the traditional bent wire junior hacksaw available for same price. The handle gives good grip and also allows for comfortable standing position when cutting, its like holding a cup. The blade can be tightened or loose, depending on angle of cut. Tight for spindles in a vice and loose angled for difficult to reach stubborn bolts. Cuts well and stores well, easy to see when delving into toolbox.

These hacksaws are top!
I will be using this to saw though a curtain pole to make it the right length. They will come in handy for loads of jobs. They are proper sturdy and I reckon they will be long lasting!
