Great cookery book

I love this bakery and the book contains a lot of their inventions that are both inspiring and delicious.I have tried out around 4-5 recipes so far. The measuring were sometimes off and I have often needed to adjust the recipe to make it work. The photos doesn't always match the recipe either e.g. the floating island recipe called for brown sugar but the photo showed a pure white meringue which was clearly not right. Similarly the shape and sizes of the photo doesn't always match the recipe either.Nonetheless I am still a fan of the book - it is now marked with many corrections but once you get it right the results are brilliant

I really think that you need to be a keen cook before you even think about buying this book.The translation is lacking, nearly every recipe states that it serves 6-7 people regardless of it's size.Also a lot of the base recipes (i.e. choux) make more than is required for some of the recipes.Everything tastes great, but you need to be pretty comfortable in the kitchen. This is not a step-by-step book at all.

I expected this book to be amazing. The kindle book layout is so badly done with so much wasted space. The content is nothing new. The explanation weak. It was such a disappointment.

I was expecting to be wowed be new pastries and techniques.The book is full of lovely pictures but found it very lacking in substance. Would recommend for someone who is not really going to cook from this book but likes collecting cook books.

not enough recipes

This book is the biggest let-down of a cookbook I've ever had the misfortune of buying. None of the recipes work, whether it's the quantities that are wrong, missing ingredients (how do you have a gateau breton with brown sugar WITHOUT the brown sugar??) or even missing steps. The recipes will never turn out how they appear in the book no matter how hard you try and how precisely you follow the instructions. Utter con of a book, don't bother wasting your money on it.
