VistaProtect - Premium Magnetic Privacy Screen Filter & Protector for Apple MacBooks (MacBook Pro 13" inches (Retina))

I liked the idea that it was magnetised.I have a 2016 MacBook Pro with Touch Bar, so wanted to be sure that this fit my model. To ensure this I emailed the company and their reply was "I can confirm our filter is compatible with your model of MacBook Pro (Model Identifier: MacBookPro13,2)".In no way does the product delivered represent the claims of the company from their web site:"Our privacy filters are designed in Switzerland and have been carefully inspected to ensure only the highest quality products."First off, the box contains no branding like the picture or anything saying VistaProtect (see photo). This made me think that Amazon had delivered the wrong product. But when I opened it up, the instructions say VistaProtect.The product has two metallic magnetised strips stuck to the top of the filter, of dimensions 38mm x 10mm (see image).The picture on Amazon does not show these. From the perspective of them not being transparent, that is not a problem, because they are above the displayable screen area when in use.Now, one of these magnetised strips was not properly stuck down, so I tried to push it down, and a splinter of the magnetised metal cut my finger. (See photos).The hole for the camera is about 3 mm too low, so the edge of the plastic overlaps the camera (see photo). (no Swiss precision there).The privacy screen is wider than the size of the case even though I emailed the company and double checked that it could be used with my model.This means that you cannot close the MacBook lid properly, for example when packing it away, therefore it would not be protected from dust and dirt and potentially specs of grit. (see photos).The plastic should be a few millimetres smaller at the edges so it fits within the black of the MacBook screen without overlapping the edge of the case body, and also then allowing the MacBook Pro to close properly when not in use.I looked for a 3M alternative, but could not be sure they made one for my model of MacBook Pro.*** Update - Sep 2017. I like the privacy function of the screen, that works really well however about a month into use the screen seems to keep slipping out of place making it hard for me to close my laptop - unclear why this is happening, if the screen is partially closed the bottom section hangs off. The fit is perfect for a Macbook Pro 13" Retina Display 2015 model, so no complaints re: camera location and screen width but the slipping issue is a real issue.

Its not a proper privacy screen for one (can still see the screen at multiple angles) and make sure you order a size up, I physically measured my laptop and ordered a screen to fit the measurements but it was a size too small.

The filter itself works well. However, after putting on the magnetic filter my laptop does not fully close. How is my laptop supposed to be portable now? Carrying the filter separately and attaching it to my laptop everytime is just ridiculous.

Very convenient as it uses magnets (which I couldn't find many others that do), quite good on the angles too. The only issue is that this protector does cause a bit of blurriness or greyness and for me personally, after a few hours of use, got a bit of a head/eyeache.

Screen performs as promised but what amazed me was the customer service!! They contacted me to check everything was ok and I had a slight issue due to nature of extras I have in my machine and they found a resolution promptly and continued to follow up. Great service!!

Despite the description suggesting compatibility it's *not* compatible with the latest MacBook Pro 13" series with TouchBar (A1706 model). The screen is about 5mm wider in all directions.

This is excellent. it was almost invisible to others as my colleagues were asking me if I has some setting on the mac to minimise the visibility.
