Offensive Football Strategies

Everything in this book, is outdated. HOWEVER; that still makes this a great book. If you're like me a curious fan, its fun to see wishbone and triple option attacks. I like watching Herschell Walker's Georgia games on Youtube; and this is what they're running. For new youth coaches; here you can find plays PROVEN to work, just pick 6-10 plays total. Some youth teams are wrecking their leagues with Single wing of the 1930's, including Sean Payton's team he coached during suspension! (Need a single wing playbook because it's too old for this book). The Pass game is simpler then the run game. Run Block schemes today are simpler then they used to be, Today 100% of the runs you see is 30% Inside Zone, 30-40% Outside Zone, Power, Counter, Wham toss, Pin and Pull, and very occasionally: Trap. Back then there was more. NCAA was a running league won by running and stopping the run until 2016. But here, there's an entire chapter 'featuring the Fullback in the run game'. There's no single wing here, btw, a scheme that ruled college and pro football 1900's-1930's but was ancient history even 40 years ago. There's no Gus Malzahn or Art Briles here either. There's the option football owned the NCAA of the past that Army and Navy still run today. Think of these as all time greats doing a clinic. AND: Army and Navy compete, using the triple option in this book, just flexbone version of it; they cannot field anyone larger then 250 lbs, they have no elite recruits, boys with pro athlete aspirations, YET, they're a tough out.

I got this book when I started helping a Friend of mine coach his son's team. It's a good beginnning book for new coaches gives you a good idea of what would be a good to starting point to build a offense. Learned alot and so did the kids but that didn't stop us from getting the piss kicked out of us. Finished the season 2-8. Learned alot though and always next year

My husband gave this book to me for Christmas. I was consistently asking questions and he thought it would help me understand the game better. The book is spell binding. I believe it was written for football coaches and I am not acquiring some of the specific information. It is very interesting.

As the head coach I developed a winning strategy that won championship after championship. I continued using the same strategy year after year, with only small changes. After a few surprise losses I realized I needed to look at what other coaches were finding successful and make some major updates. This book has been a big help. Thanks.

If you are like me, and like offense in general, this book is for you. Lots of different views on offense. Love seeing the "Wing-T", and the "Spread" in the same book. Very imformative, and a very good purchase for anyone looking to expand their knowledge of the great game of football!!!

Many people watch football but this book delves into strategies and helps you understand what's going on beyond the obvious.

Really enjoy these books and have been through most of this one with my highlighter and pen. The only complaint I have is that many of the proceedings inside are taken from the 70s and 80s. Since many concepts are timeless I don't mind it completely, but would like to see a larger mix of more up to date material.

Lo compré como regalo para un familiar aficionado al fútbol américano. Quedó encantado. Aparentemente no incluye las tácticas más actuales. Pero parece bueno para aprender a un nivel un poco más avanzado. Recomendable para los que quieran adentrarse más.

Un' ottimo libro che illustra in maniera accurata tutte le strategie dell'attacco dal creare un sistema di attacco passando dalle corse e dai lanci fino alla goal line.Unica nota negativa se si vuole cercare e' che il libro è del 2000, un po' datato.
