A decent affordable multitool
The Vertex multitool was purchased to replace a lost Gerber multitool because I did not want to spend the money it would cost to get another one. The Vertex is well worth the price. My first reaction when I got it out of the box was “My God, this thing is heavy!” It is very well made. I like the look and the feel. The locking mechanisms are easy to get to and work well. Though heavy, it fits well in the hand when using the blades, and the spring action of the pliers works very well. The needle nose pliers are strong, and the wire cutters do well on zip ties and base guitar strings. The handle holds four pieces of steel in each half. Five of the eight pieces have hooks on them. I have not deciphered all their function yet but there are a bunch of them to choose from. The knife blade is only 2.25” long and not very sharp. It did not do well on carboard boxes, zip ties, or .25” plastic tubing. I tried sharpening it on a grinder at work and nicked the blade while making it a bit sharper. Still need to sharpen it more. Would do best to use a whet stone or knife sharpener. The serrated blade is not as very sharp. It would not saw through thick zip ties or cardboard boxes. What is described as a medium flat head screw driver is quite thin at the tip. This should be a bit beefier thickness. This works only on small screws. The awl as it is described on the web page has a thick dull point and the longer edge is not sharp. In the other handle half are a file, a Phillips screwdriver, a small flat head screwdriver and a can/bottle opener. The file has a face on each side and so far, has not proven useful to me yet. The end narrows down into a flat screwdriver. This screwdriver blade is too thin and turns out of the slots I have attempted to turn. This needs to be thicker. The width is fine. The Phillips head screwdriver is very small. I would rather have something approaching a #2.The Can/bottle opener is of adequate size.Overall I like the Vertex and am satisfied with the purchase and would consider purchasing another.

Tools, tools OMG tools
My brother actually bought this tool and this is one of his favorite tooland most used tool it comes with a pouch that fits on your belt (bonus) lol, the only downfall to this tool is he wishes that Philip's screwdriver was just a little bit bigger but other than that it seems like it's built to last and it's pretty strong. The customer service that comes with this small and mighty tool is second to none A+ all the way, they are so awesome that they send you a note and I was stating if you have any problems to contact them and they also email you a couple of days later to make sure that you are still satisfied with their products. So if you're looking for a really good very dependable multi-tool and great customer service I highly recommend this tool and the Vertex company

Good for the price
So far it has been a good multi tool. I’ve had to break it in. It was very stiff and when I went to pull one attachment out, one or two others would come along. A little WD-40 and some constant use lossened it up and its well worth the money.

Heavy, well built
Good quality and works well. I use it all the time at work. The weight is something I did not expect, but I don't mind it bring a little heavy. It doesn't weigh down my belt much when it's in the pouch, either.

Great Multitool
Has withstood the test of salt/sea water rivers, lakes and ponds for fishing and boating. As long as you clean this up and keep it lubricated it will last a long time. Great for use when fishing and hunting or as a necessary device for your bugout bag. Clean sharpen and lube after each use and you'll be a happy camper!

Not for daily use
I bought this to replace my lost Gerber. I chose it based on all the high reviews. I have always used Gerber or Leatherman. But thought I would give this one a shot. It’s eh. It’s odly heavy. Odd because it doesn’t feel overly sturdy. It’s hard to open when compared to others, something you can’t do one handed for sure. It’s also straingly big and fat for what tools it has. But overall it is better than most “off” brands. This is one I’ll throw in the tackle box. But I probably wont be carrying it daily. I wouldn’t buy it again at $21.00

Not as described
When a product is advertised as 14-in-1 and the box says 13-in-1 there is either something wrong with the ad, it is being misrepresented, or someone has done a pretty poor job of proofreading and allowed non-factual information to be published. That is the case with this item. This was supposed to be a Christmas gift for someone, and two of the same incorrectly advertised items were sent. Sorry, two 13-in-1 do not equal one 14-in-1. The gift recipient will be receiving a gift card allowing him to purchase possibly a Leatherman or some other brand that actually exists as advertised. Poor fulfillment, bad advertising. And if you think that a pouch is the equivalent of a working part of a multitool, it is not.
