I would happily recommend this product . Gave my steam iron a really good clean after I badly scorched it several months ago. Just follow the instructions carefully for a really good clean. Nice to find a product that does exactly what it says it will

It worked. Had stupidly put very hot iron on a polyester fabric. Used this with an old pure cotton sock. The stuck-on burnt fabric came off easily and quickly. A light stain of burnt fabricr colour emained but as long as it does not transfer to other clothes, it doesn't matter.

After annoyingly dropping my brand new steam iron on our newish carpet and ruining it, but the carpet is a different story! My iron had all burnt carpet fibres stuck to the plate! I bought this and followed the instructions and it worked by removing all the burnt carpet and staining, with only a few stubborn miniscule marks remaining. You must use a 100% cotton cloth, I used an old wash mitt and the iron must be hot when you apply the cream or else it will not work, so make sure the cotton cloth is thick so you don't scold yourself. You do have to work on the iron using your strength to clean in circular motions. Remember to ensure that you clean off the residue of cream from the plate and holes when you've finished and your good to go. The smell isn't strong or off putting. The cream is good value for money. However, it didn't work at all on my hair straighteners, so I would only recommend this product for an iron. The burn on my carpet, unfortunately can't be remedied and so I had to buy a rug to cover it up!

Works a treat. My iron had black, hardened residue on base. Took the whole tube to get it off but it worked really well. Empty out water and make sure iron is on. I squeezed paste on with one hand and held iron so it was flat in the other. This allowed paste to sit on black residue and soak in before using a cotton cloth (old tea towel) to wipe it clean. Be careful you don’t burn your fingers!

I rarely do reviews, but I had this delivered about 5 mins ago and have already used it. It's brilliant. There was a large burn baked onto the iron that I had tried to shift with homemade stuff. This brought it straight off in seconds. Do follow the instructions carefully- I missed the bit about turning the iron on so wasted a little bit. Have used less than half a tube in total, so will keep in case it happens again.

It’s fine overall. However, please ensure you have a piece of 100% cotton cloth on hand to use this product. While this detail is included in the instructions, the text is so small that I had to use a magnifier to read it. It cleaned 70%.
