Baltic Amber Collar
I ordered the Hand Made, Totally Natural Raw Baltic Amber Collar for my cat after a friend in America recommended a similar product she uses for her dogs. The claim of these collars is that Amber has a natural secretion that ticks and fleas don't like, my friend uses these on her 3 dogs which are particularly prone to ticks as they live on a small holding and often go for walks in the woods, since using a similar product there have been far fewer instances of ticks found (down from 3 or 4 on each dog to the occassional one on just one dog) so I thought I would try this on my cat who was plagued with fleas earlier in the spring/summer despite using Bob Martin flea treatment and

Sadly she HATES the earth powder so I have to 'sneak' it on and brush/rub it into her fur quickly before she realises what I'm doing and jumps off in a huff!The instructions suggest getting rid of the fleas before using the collar as the aim is to keep them off rather than kill them in the same way that a flea collar does so a trip to the vet for some stronger flea drops was in order along with some heavy grooming as she is a semi long haired cat! I also used
Indorex Flea Spray
on all the furniture and carpets to make sure they were all eliminated.I duly washed the collar as suggested and put it on my now flea free cat who also hates collars and tries numerous sneaky ways of removing both the amber collar and her red one with it's tag and bell to warn the birds!While I am not totally convinced the amber collar would deter fleas and ticks completely, so far she has remained pest free. She has regular monthly flea treatment drops along with the collar which seems to be keeping the fleas at bay as I haven't spotted a single one since so I think this collar helps to deter the nasty pests and would recommend folk to give it a try!Note that the collar does not have an elastic escape/release section as the amber is strung on a strong cotton/string like material which should break if a cat got the collar caught on something. I would like to see a small enclosed ring on the collar that would allow the attachment of a bell and owner tag so my poor cat would only have one collar to contend with, but other than that, this is an attractive looking collar that helps keep the pests at bay!

Really lovely
Lovely collar, looks cute on my pup. A little big but I like how it hangs a little like a necklace. Only mildly concerned about him wearing it to the park as playtime can get a little rough so hoping it won't snap! We shall see!

Absolutely brilliant! I hate having to give my dog chemicals, so this was a natural alternative for flea and tick treatment. I live in Devon and, although I think it was a 'quiet' year for ticks, my dog only had two ticks the whole season. So, although the collar didn't keep them off 100% (they attached to the bald part on the inside of the leg), I am more than happy that it did a good enough job!

Be careful when buying
I find all flea collars the same they attract the fleas but don't kill them instently. Instead your animal gets a lot of bites around the neck
