Gabrielle Chanel (the Official V&A Exhibition Book): 60 Years of Fashion

It's like visiting the exhibition all over again everytime I read it. Well worth the price 👌 .

Wonderful photos of the V&A exhibition contents.

Excellent

Arrived in wrapped in plastic, so new and untouched. It's far, far superior to the French book that was published for the exhibition held there. These photos are very clear and the details can be seen. It covers items from Chanel's whole career and a little beyond. Photo on one side, text on the other. I quote directly from text on page 256"Vogue referred to the fact that it had been inspired by Indian dress, titling the look a 'Lamé Indian tunic' and likening it to something that might have been worn by a 'young Rajput prince'. This language reflects the attitude of western fashion in this period (and in decades to come), when global cultures were liberally referenced as sources of inspiration without relevant context or acknowledgement of original creators".Personally, I don't need that sort of text. Hence 4 stars not 5.

a lovely book full of photos but shop around as the V&A has this book at a much better price

El libro es perfecto de principio a fin, fotos históricas que no encuentras con facilidad. Diseños exquisitos y el detalle de las fotos es increíble. Obligatorio para todo fan de la Maison Chanel!
