QNAPQM2-2P DUAL M.2 22110/2280 PCIE SSD EXP CARD PCIE GEN2 X 4 - (> HIGH END STORAGE ACC)

I took a chance and bought four of these as part the NVMe cache layer for my budget Storage Spaces Direct build (four LFF Dell C2100/FS12-TY). They work exactly as expected, and play nicely with S2D. Worked out of the box with Windows Server 2016.The only reason I can't give this the full five stars is because of the inherent bottleneck in the design. The card only sports a PCIe x4 interface to split between the two x4 NVMe cards it hosts, which poses a problem when attempting to use both cards at full speed simultaneously. I was fully aware and accepting of this limitation at the time of purchase, but it may be a deal breaker for some.All in all, I would purchase again, as it's a fantastic way to add dense NVMe storage to a system with no M.2 slots and limited PCIe slots.

Installation is straightforward and simple if you have a QNAP that supports this. The package comes with all manners of adapters for half height, full height plus half height without a bracket installation. Also comes with necessary heat pads to cool your PCIe SSD. Installed into my QNAP fine, just a FYI I used a pair of Samsung 960 evo PCIe SSD's.The main issue I have is that the speed increase is marginally better. Not what I expected. I guess I can't expect miracles. Either way I'll take it since I got the drives for pretty cheap from a Best Buy refurbished deal.

Can't find a replacement fan, constant alarm condition.

Product did not come with screws to hold m.2 card down. QA was lacking.
