It has a sturdy clip that is black. It is wide enough to clip onto your pants loop, backpack, some jacket pocket holes. The para cord is well wrapped and the nylon cord is strong. If needed, this cord could be a life safer and could hold up to 550 pounds. The key ring is sturdy and can hold several keys safely and I feel it is strong enough not to worry about losing the keys off the ring or the latch coming disconnected while we are camping or walking down by the river. It has a round metal ring with it's name on it. The bar on the middle of the cord is a material that you can use to start a fire. It comes with this metal washer looking item which can be used to strike the bar to create a spark. It takes a little while to get past the paint, but once it is though it will make sparks easily. You can collect it to help you with survival needs.
