Worked as stated
Lighting was pretty easy and it lasted about 5 hours. Medium size fire that was easily extinguished with the lid the first night after about 3 hours. Over all; very satisfied and bought another one for next camping trip.

Burns for maybe 5 hours
Love this for small fires on a cool night.

A bit expensive, but well worth it in certain situations
I understand that this is not a replacement for a real, wood-burning fire. I also understand that I could make one myself with a cookie tin, leftover wax candles, and some corrugated cardboard or egg cartons. However, sometimes you get to a camping spot late at night, or they ran out of firewood at the last stop you made before hitting the forest, or you want a nice little backyard fire for entertaining guests but don't own a fire pit. These are all the reasons this little thing works so well, and is totally worth the price to keep on hand for those situations. The fire is warm enough for 2 or 3 people, and the flames average about 18 inches high. It puts out the light and warmth of a small wood fire, but without the sparks or smoke. It lit super easily and stayed lit until we snuffed it out after about 2.5 hours (it looks to be about halfway spent now. We were using it in the mountains where they say it has up to a 5-hr burn time, which appears accurate). And as for the high cost and the "just make one at home" folks:A) Firewood can also be expensive -- especially when you're like me and buy the good oak stuff instead of that smokey, moist, sparky pine junk. And it takes up a lot of room.B) What kind of real people with jobs, kids, etc. have the time, resources, or patience to make one themselves, let alone with food-grade wax that doesn't smell and can be cooked over? Yes, I'm sure it's cheaper, but sometimes the price we pay for convenience is well worth it and I think this is one of those times.Anyway, I'm an avid camper and love my wood fires. This will never replace them. But sometimes having a backup like this is a blessing on the trail. When I used it, it kept two people warm and happy on a night that dipped down into the low 30s. It was super easy to light, and snuffed out in about 3 seconds with the lid slipped over.I'll be buying another to keep as a spare, and might try refilling this one as a project to help spread out the investment.Highly recommend!Oh, and it does get pretty hot -- after all, this is a fire in a can. Don't blame the manufacturer when you put it on a heat-sensitive surface and ruin your patio furniture. Have some common sense.Happy camping!

Burn Time
Purchased for use on the beach due to restrictions for wood fires. Was pleased with both the size of the flame and the warmth it produced. Based on all the reviews I expected to get at least 3 hours of burn time. After just under 2 hours the flame died down and went out. There was no wax left (see pic) It was pretty windy, maybe that contributed to the fast burn time? Purchased another and will see how it goes. This is an update… we continue to use these at the beach as described above and enjoy the “campfire feel” they provide. However after using 6 of them since my last review we have never had them last more than 2 1/2 hours. Keep that in mind when purchasing; we do buy a 4 pack which is more economicalUpdate...We've purchased many of these, unfortunately the company / seller has stopped offering the 4 pack which was more economical. While they've lowered the price of the single unit, they offer a 2 pack for more money than buying them separately??

Gets the job done!
This is the perfect little set up for a quick get it and go camping trip! Hands down a great little piece of gear! Would I use it to roast marshmallows on; probably not. Something about burning wax, something you’re gonna eat as a marshmallow kind of doesn’t go hand-in-hand in my book lol. You can’t beat this little thing. It puts off just enough heat and just enough flame for a small campfire and I didn’t have to worry about putting the fire out with water and all the smoke afterwards. Just put the lid back on, jump in your tent and go to bed. Will this ever replace a real campfire… I would say no, but for somebody like me that has my boy every other weekend and I need to do things on the fly. This is a perfect!

Convenient
We camp with our horses and after riding all day, we are too tired to start a real campfire with wood and have to stay up till it’s out. This handy fire in a can is easy to use, light weight, put the lid on it and the fire goes out so your not up all night. Thought it may have been kinda cheesy at first but we really enjoy it and have purchased more. I’m on our third one and will continue to buy more, just wished they lasted longer than 5 hours so we could enjoy them for 2 nights of camping. Convenient cause your not hauling wood, fire ring and handling soot covered mess.

Good, but doesn't last. Here’s a few key safety tips.
We bought this to use in our front yard since we will often sit on the front porch but don’t have room for a fire pit like the backyard. It's great, and I loved the reusable nature of it, in theory. In reality, we got less than 2 hrs burn-time when it advertises 5. A few key things to stay safe and they impact how you want to use this:- Make sure it’s on dirt ground or concrete, metal, brick, etc. We had it on a plastic table and the bottom of the tin does get very toasty. We opted to slide a ceramic dinner plate under it and that was perfect. No burn-through.- Don’t move it! The surface boils, like a molten candle. You’ll hear little pops as the liquid moves around. It’s super dangerous to move and I’d highly advise against it.- It takes awhile to cool down. I usually leave it outside. If you’re camping, I’d recommend just leaving it where you lit it and grabbing it in the morning.Be careful and it’s a ton of fun. Expect a single burn nowhere near as long as advertised. The tin advertises 3ft flames which is absurd. Ours, maybe, got a foot and a half high. Which is still plenty. 3ft would be terrifying.
