Telesteps 60324 Silver, 60324-101 Mini Telescopic Loft Ladder

I absolutely love this loft ladder. Here's why:1) It's extremely easy to fit. It's much easier to understand how to do this by watching the youtube video or going to the Telesteps website as the installation manual is pretty useless.2) Once installed, it's so quick to operate - so much easier than massing around with foldable sliding options.3) The build quality is excellent. Compared to the other ladders for the same price, it is extremely good value.4) For the money, it is rated to handle very heavy weight (up to 150 KG if I remember correctly).Here are the aspects I would be concerned about when deciding if this ladder is for you:1) You need to check the floor to floor height to make sure it is suitable. It's fine for standard height ceilings, but measure before buying.2) Although it is technically easy to fit, getting the springs fitting is not easy at all. I go to the gym regularly, so I don't usually struggle with physical tasks, but this was really tougher than I expected. I would recommend also getting some protective gloves to stop your skin getting caught in the spring. You definitely need someone to help with this if you are elderly or struggle physical tasks.3) The height of the mounting bracket could cause issues if you have an insulated loft hatch - especially with fire rated one, so check both would fit.Bottom line, it's extremely well built, easy to use and great value.

We have the larger version of this at work and I was that impressed with it that I bought the mini for home. Well it may be smaller but it still packs the same, solid punch.Having seen one already installed, and having read the other reviews, the installation was a doddle. It took me longer to deepen the joist than it did to install the ladder. The joists in my house are more than large enough to take the ladder mechanism, however the way I had boarded it our meant that I couldn't quite get the annoying piece of wood out that was stopping the frame from fitting - solution was to increase the joist depth where the ladder fits. 12x 2.5" screws later and hey presto.... it fits.The instructions are somewhat vague, but as other reviewers have said, if you attach the springs to the mechanism with the ladder in place in the loft, you can't go wrong. I was lucky enough to have a telescopic ladder in place to allow loft access, so all i did was install the ladder, fold it fully back and rest it on the loft boarding, allowing me to have unrestricted access from above the mechanism to fit the springs. Fitting from below and looking up through the loft hatch in my opinion could lead to a nasty spring related incident :)All in all a very very good product. Light enough for the slightest of persons to operate, and sturdy enough for years of use. It takes 100kg user weight with 20kg of baggage in hands with no problems at all.Highly recommended product.

I was looking for a ladder that didn't take up space in the loft and after finding out that I did not have enough clearance opening space for the youngman Eco S range I looked at this and the concertina ladder.In the end settled on this due to it looking more solid.Excellent product. Very easy to install without help. There are only two tricky parts, finding enough timber to attach the top plate to (I had to add a additional piece of 2 x 4) and stretching the springs into place. The springs are much easier to attach if the ladder is closed so after you have installed it collapse it with you in the loft and attach the springs. Sounds hard but it is not too bad. I used a couple of cable ties to help grip the end of the spring.The only other tang is the instructions are hopeless. Ikea style pictures with no words. Good job it is fairly simple to install.I would recommend this to most people. The only reason I may hesitate is you need to be quite tall to get the mechanism down when collapsed.Arrived next day and boxed perfectly as always.

These are fantastic and very easy to fit. I did it myself (57 year old woman with pretty good DIY skills). I did need to fit a strong bit of wood between the joints to screw it onto but that was easy, just some 90 degree brackets and screws to make sure it was secure before I screwed the ladder fixing bracket to it. You may not need to do that. As my roof slope is very shallow I cannot stand up in the loft so a conventional loft ladder is no good as not enough clearance. I looked at concertina steps but they seemed very flimsy in the videos I saw. These are very robust with nice wide treads. The heavy duty springs mean they are very easy to lower or put back up. To lower you just pull gently on the strap and they drop down out of the hatch. Grab the bottom step and extend them to the ground - the steps just telescope out on their own. To put back up you press on the two catches under the bottom step and push them up so the steps telescope back into each other. Then position yourself directly under the hatch and just flip them up a bit and the springs do the rest. As I don't use a proper hatch cover, just a board that sides on the hatch ledges, I use a spring-loaded litter pick-up tool to grab the strap and push it out of the way when I want to close the hatch or to pull it down for opening. It is so easy to get in and out of my loft now. I wish I had bought these years ago.

Note that this ladder operates completely independently the door itself and does not include the door. So you will need to figure out how to install the door itself. I just had a piece of wood that propped in the hole, but plan on putting a couple hinges and a simple latch on it. The only bad thing about this ladder is the instructions. Thank goodness I was able to figure out the install by reading the Amazon reviews. The main steps are:1. Install the head bracket2. Attach the ladder using 1 of the two bars through the top of the ladder and the holes in the head bracket. I found it easiest to extend the ladder and let it rest on the ground while i lined all the holes up to put the bar through.3. Put the second bar through the holes in the two rods that are hanging from the head bracket. Make sure you put the strap on the bar first.4. Put the springs on. Attach to the top first. Then I got a length of twine and folded it twice to put through the bottom loop on the spring. I used this to pull as hard as I could and hook the spring loop onto bottom bar. The twine will be stuck under spring but you can just yank it out. Repeat for second spring.Ladder is sturdy and easily folds up and down.

Uitstekende degelijke trap.Montage is simpel, het handigst is wel even het installatiefimpje te bekijken.Schuift makkelijk in. En neem weinig plaats in, de opgegeven 60 cm is zeker mogelijk. Ik heb 73 aangehouden omdat ik die ruimte had, maar ideaal dus dat deze trap in zo'n kleine opening past.
